They hosted a visitor from England, Vivian Dunne who has been travelling around the world since last February. He lives on a dairy farm in Shropshue and en- joyed his stay on a Canadian Dairy farm. Then Andrea and sister Judy Croven went to Calgary Alberta to visit their cousin Jan Rhodes. They had a great reunion and travelled to all the tourist locations including Banff and Emerold Lake. After returning home Andrea and Chap went to Ottawa for a short holiday and toured the new museum of Man. Then more visitors from England, Alison Dunne and friend who enjoyed Toronto and Port Perry for two days before travell- ing east. Sympathy is extended to Burn- sell Webster and family on the sudden passing of Marion last week. On Wednesday evening 16 members of the U.C.W. met in the church. President Linda McMillian welcomed everyone. The minutes of the last meeting were read, but no treasurer report as Pat Love is holidaying in England. If anyone would like to help with our mission work these things are needed. Hand knit items, mitts, hats, scarves, old eye glasss, hearing aids, Campbell soup labels, used postage stamps, fronts from greeting cards. Plans for the Beef Supper on Oct. 29th are going well and tickets are going fast so call Linda McMillian soon so you are not disappointed. There have been a number of dishes left at the church, if you could pick up yours before they get broken or misplaced. Noreen Crosier opened devotion with a reading 'Reasons for Thanksgiving" Hymn: "Come Ye Thankful People Come." Scrip- ture Matthew 13 was read. Catherine Diagle gave the topic. In everything we give thanks. Hymn: *"'Stand up for Jesus" was sung. A film *'Still Killing us Soft- ly' was enjoyed with a group discussion afterwards. Dorothy Hope and Reta Glasgow served a lovely lunch. On Thursday evening twelve tables of euchre players turned out for an evening of cards. It was great to see so many Seagrave people at Pinedale's 116th Anniversary Church Service Sunday morning. Rev. Jack Roundell was the guest speaker and his message on "Take Time to Smell the Flowers" was well received. It was great to have Rev. Jack and his wife Elma back to help in the celebration. It looks like the Blakley's will be eating moose meat for another year as the great white hunter shot another moose while hunting in the north country.
