RE Port Perry High School held its annual Commencement November 3, and one of the highlights was the recognition of the school's Ontario scholars who attained at least 80 per cent in six grade 13 subjects. Everyone enjoyed the slides shown by Isobel Gregg. They really brought back plea- sant memories. We wish good health to Mr. Frank Lee who is home from hospital. Mrs. Doris Hill is improving after her operation in Port Perry Hospital. We wish her a speedy recovery. We miss you, Doris!! Mr. Mark McKean and his fiancee Donna, helped his father, Don celebrate his birthday. Also his sister Jean Butler visited for this happy occasion, last week. Greenbank Women's Institute will help in the "Awareness & Raising Week' in Port Perry. They will have a huge display in the library to promote Recycling Week of November the 20th, for all of Ontario. All the schools are planning on taking part in this week. Last Monday evening the neighbours and friends of Mr. Bill Graham held a farewell wine and cheese party at his home. Follow- ing a social hour, Mrs. Ruby Beare read two appropriate poems after which Mr. Armour McMillan spoke of Bill, his years of "Bellview Farms' and some humorous stories. Armour presented Bill with a small gift - Ww THE REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY OF DURHAM from his neighbours with best wishes to him in his new home in Port Perry. Our Greenbank United Church celebrated the 93rd Anniversary on Sunday. Dr. Norman MacKen- zie, a missionary was the guest speaker. He served in china, In- dia & Japan and brought to us such a refreshing account of his travels & work in the far off mis- sion fields. Everyone enjoyed his wit and humour as he related his experiences. We were also thrill- ed with the solos by Rita Stickwood and Hugh Baird. Our own choirs were splendid. A reception and brunch after the service was enjoyed by all. The Afternoon U.C.W. will meet on Wednesday the 8th at 12:30 noon. Our speaker will be Ida Hurtig from Port Perry on the "Life of a Refugee." Please come and bring a friend. The next meeting of our "Women's Institute" will be held at the home of Mrs. Marion Innes on Nov. 15 in Sunderland. Ladies please meet in Greenbank Church parking lot for directions to Marion's home at 1:30 p.m. Mrs. Barbara Evans, our guest speaker will give us an illustrated report of the A.CW.W. con- ference held recently in Kansas City, Missouri. Come and bring a friend. Our congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Don Donneral on their 50th Wedding Anniversary. We do wish Don better health.
