(SEE SECTION 8, SUBSECTION C, BY-LAW No. 32-88, TOWNSHIP OF SCUGOG) R.C. MacDonald Roads Superintendent TOWNSHIP of SCUGOG Settlement House SHOPS Councillors fume over problems in subdivision Outstanding deficiencies, in- cluding drainage and a walk- way in the Victorian Village subdivision were once again the subject of discussion at council Monday morning. The ongoing problem is quickly coming to a head, with council ready to refuse lowering the contractors letter of credit, as well as calling a public meet- ing with Ribcor Holdings. Mayor Howard Hall said that council has been trying for the past six months to settle these problems in a co-operative manner with little luck. Councill Don Cochrane sug- gested it was 'time to play "hardball", as trying to deal nicely has not worked. But once again, some of the harshest criticism came from Councillor Pearce, who said "enough is enough", and sug- gested that council should in- vite the developers to a public meeting so everyone can hear the same story. v "We need some direction as to how the walkway situation can be solvgd. The walkway. is the preferred solution, but if we can't have it, then let them (Riboor) give us some alterna- tives", she said. In discussions about ongoing drainage problems, Mayor Ho- ward Hall said he firmly be- lieved that it was the Separate School property that was caus- ing most of the water problems. aybe it's time we tell the School Board to fix the problem they are creating", he said. Mr. Hall was referring to the water draining from the school prop- erty into the back yards of some of the homes in Victorian Vil- lage. , He also asked administrator Earl Cuddie to get some legal advice as to who is responsible when excessive amounts of wa- ter runs from one property onto another property. "The developers keep telli usit's the School's problem, an the School Bd. says it's the de- velopers problem," he said. A tentative pic meeting with Ribcor Holdings develop- ers has been scheduled for Mon- day, November 20 in the eve- ning to discuss the deficiencies.
