% 0 123 Number 52 Santa Claus is coming to Port Perry this Saturday! Santa, along with his elves and many floats, will make their appearance in the annual Scugog Chamber of Commerce Santa Claus Parade. The parade this year promises to be a good one. There are close to 50 entries in- cluding nine bands, said Miriam Price, pa- rade organizer. The parade will get underway at 2 p.m., starting at the fairgrounds, continuing along Lilla Street, east on Queen St., to the waterfront. Following the parade, children are invit- ed to share their dreams, and special wish- es with Santa, and take home, one of 500 goodie bags, that have been prepared for the youngsters. This year a special Gingerbread House will be set up beside the Standard Trust building on Queen Street, where the chil- dren can see their favourite elf--Santa Claus up close. The Clown Band which entertained crowds last year for the first time, will once again be circulating on the main street, en- tertaining the crowd before the parade be- gins, : Elves and clowns will be in abundance in the streets as well, handing out balloons tothe on-lookers. Parade floats will be judged this year, in four categories. They are: best religious, most humorous, best fairy tale, and best all-round. All floats will be recognized with "ribbons. This year's judges will be Les and Zona Parkes. Parade organizers once again ask the co- operation of the public , and have placed notices that all vehicles be removed from Queen Street between 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. Children are also reminded to deliver their Santa Claus letter, and not to forget the postal code HOH OHO, " and you will probably get an answer".
