After a fairly even first period, Port Perry began the second down 1-0 but with the momentum swinging their way. Kevin Gray broke up a clearing pass in Port Hope's end, skated by the lone defenseman and put a nice move on the goalie to tie the score. Port Perry put a lot of pressure on the Port Hope goalie in the re- mainder of the second period but just couldn't capitalize on their chances. Early in the third period, Port Hope scored a short-handed goal and from that time on took contfol of the game. The ModJacks have signed Danny Maw (he played in both weekend games, getting two goals and one assist) He started the season with the Lindsay Junior B team. He lives in the Janetville area, played minor hockey here and in Manvers, and he's a solid two way player. The ModJacks came out of _ the weekend with 26 points on 12 wins, two ties and three de- feats. But they are five points behind Bowmanville who dou- bled Uxbridge 4-2 Friday eve- ning, then pasted Ajax 9-2 on Sunday while the MoJacks wereidle. MoJacks played Monday night in Cobourg and this week- end, they travel to Bowmanville on Saturday night, then host the Cobourg Cougars at the Scugog Arena on Sunday. The team has been getting some excellent work from sever- al players whose names don't appear too often on the score sheet.
