Throughout the first period the score see-sawed back and forth, 'however, at the beginning of the second period it looked like Port was in trouble and they remain- ed there. The final score was 10-5 in favour of Ajax. Ajax have a young team in- cluding two very strong players, one of whom either scored or assisted each goal. Our scoring was shared through continuous passing by Alechia and Laura with 1 goal and 1 assist each. Jennifer Elliot aggressive- ly scoring 2-goals and Amanda Wakeford scored her first goal of the year and had 2 assists as well. Although Ajax had a strong defence the efforts of Jennifer Donnelly, Melissa and Janine did not go unnoticed. Jennifer Ham- mond played a great game with a blue stick instead of the usual goalie stick. Jenny Lane played her first. game in goal this season and had her work cut out for her in net 'with an enormous amount of shots on goal. You made some great saves Jenny. Our red sticks, Janna, Pam, Diane, Brooke and Bonni-Jo were tireless in their efforts of defen- ding our net. Our defence always give their 100 percent and deserve much credit. This game gave the girls the op- portunity to practise their skills in preparation for the tournament they will be participating in in the St. Catharines area this weekend.
