Sportsiand Bantams tournament champs On November 26 the Sportsland Bantams travelled to Thornton for a tournament. The boys came together and played 3 excellent games of hockey to win the championship. Our first game was against Whitby and the final score was 6-0. Scott Wylie led the way with 2 goals while Jeff Card added one as well as picking up 2 assists. Todd Smart, Sean McEnaney and Aron Royle finished off the scor- ing with one goal apiece. Jason Coutoulakis pitched in with 2 assists with Steve Desautels, Noah St. Amond, Ryan Picard, Lindsay Parry, Mike Sluggett and Peter King all chipping in with 1 assist. Matt Willets picked up the shutout. Port's second game was against a tough Coldwater team. Steve Desautels opened the scor- ing picking up a loose puck behind the net and stuffing it into the open net. Scott Wylie who did a great forechecking job and Mike Sluggett picked up the assists. Coldwater tied the game mid- way through the second period before Sean McEnaney restored the lead with Lindsay Parry and Mike Sluggett picking up the assists. Chris MacLoed finished off the scoring with an empty net goal to give Port a 3-1 victory. Jeff Card and Mike Sluggett picked up the assists. Adam Heyes was sharp between the pipes for Port. In the final, Sportsland came u against a strong club from Stroud. This was a very physical game with a lot of action. The final score of this game was 3-1 but Port also had 2 goals dissallowed so the score was not as close as it seemed. Chris MacLoed got things started with a shot from the point that deflected in off of a Stroud players skate. Sean McEnaney gave Port a 2-0 lead 4 minutes later with what proved to be the winning goal. Lindsay Parry finished off the scoring. Noah St. Amond pitched in with 2 assists while Scott Wylie, Steve Desautel, Lindsay Parry and Aron Royle picking up one assist each. The team would like to thank their fans for their "participa- tion" in this game as they kept the boys up and into the game. If the boys keep up this kind of effort they should have a suc- cessful finish to the year. KARATE HIRYU BUSHIDO KAI Queen & Lilla St., Port Perry Classes - Mon. & Wed.
