With the clock winding down and - both teams running out of steam, Consumer's Daryl Moase scored the tie breaker with a minute to go. . Final, after forty-five minutes of excellent hockey, Consumer's - Gas 3, Larocque Electric 2. Larocque Electric 6 Big V 4 : This was hockey at its finest. Both teams played three periods of super exciting hockey. Big V went on the scoreboard first as Greg Thompson scored a beauty while John Hall earned the assist. Big V's Derek Anderson netted the second on assists from Chad Mitchell and Greg Thompson. In the second, Larocque started to unwind as Jeremy Stevens scored, Mike Wilson and Justin Wootton assisted. It wasn't long and Greg Thomp- son had his second of the game for Big V, Craig Coates picking up the assist. Larocque hustled right back with two quick ones, Justin Woot- ton from Ryan Larmer and then Steve MacDonald unassisted. In the third period Big V's PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, December 19, 1989 -- 31 Pee Wee House League Action Derek Anderson scored unassisted to put them in the lead once again, it didn't last but only thirty two seconds, and then Larocque's Jeff Fletcher scored from Jeremy Stevens to tie the game. There was lots more of end to end rushing but it was Larocque who scored to take the lead as Mike Wilson scored from Scott Swain. In a valiant effort to even the game Big V pulled their ~ goaltender only to have Laroc- ques' Justin Wootton find the target unattended. Great game guys, goaltenders to be complimented on their fine play. La Rock guys wear those nice red corduroy hats, they look pretty dashing for Christmas. Emiels 5 Consumers Gas 5 This was another example of the Pee Wee House League at its' best. Too often goaltenders are overlooked in our game of hockey so I would just like to compliment Ian Johnson who stole the show for Consumers and robbed everyone in sight, and to Jamie Lowe who just returned from be- ing in the hospital, who plays ter- rific in goal for Emiels. Consumers rallied early and scored twice in the first period to take a two to zip lead. Ritchie Tripp had both goals while Steve Cochrane had both assists. In the second period Con- sumer's Darryl Moase scored as he rifled one past Emiels goaltender, Ritchie Tripp assisting. Emiels, not content to stay off the scoreboard, scored, as Stewart Bruce scoted from Matt Brown and Rob Martyn. Con- sumers were right back as Scot Prechitko scored unassisted. Emiels determined to make a come back, accounted for the next four goals, Matt Brown from Jon Jamieson, Stewart Bruce from Kirk Swain and Gord Bentley and then Stewart Bruce, his hat trick from Jon Jamieson and Brad Strickert, then Matt Brown his se- cond of the game from Jon Jamieson. Everyone thought Emiels had it wrapped up but with thirty-one seconds to go, Consumers' Ritchie Tripp netted his third for the hat trick as Steve Cochrane con- nected for the asssist. Final after three periods of eat excitement, excellent hus- e, and super sportsmanship, Emiels 5, Consumers Gas 5. A.W.
