Prince Albert students tell What they like about Xmas What I Like About Christmas I think that everybody likes Christmas. Some like it in dif- ferent ways than others. I think I like the suspense on Christmas Eve, and to guess what I got for a present. However I also like getting together with the family. On Christmas Eve I go to my mother's side. On Christmas mor- ning I go my father's side. by Rachel Keeler, Prince Albert P.S. Why I Like Christmas I like Christmas because fami- ly members gather together in peace and joy. Christmas is the day when Jesus was born and he brought us love. Christmas means joy, happiness, peace, harmony and most of all -- love. That's what I think Christmas means. I'm from Prince Albert P.S. and in grade 5. by Michelle Christine Collins 0 PR FESR RR SN FOR YR CR RR RR ROR FO SR RTR RAR RR RR RA RR Rak RR RN RR Se RY Cooking a "far out" Christmas dinner Cooking A "Far Out" Christmas Dinner One Christmas Day I was cook- ing my feast, When my door opened and in came a beast. He claimed to have been from outer space, I wondered why he picked to enter my place. Was it just me or was he really there? Whatever it was it gave me a scare! ) I looked in the fridge to get him something to eat, For no real reason I looked down at my feet, Just a few seconds later I turned around, . Not one trace of the beast was to Lc ound. I went back to stirring my : Cranberry Cocktail, And I looked out the window for a sign of a trail. I was absent-minded while adding this and that, - * Who knows I might have even put in old Tom Cat. : The food is "Far Out" my family all said, Ye ate and had a great time until I often think of that Christmas day, When that creature came from so far away. by Sonja Anderson, S.A. I've been waiting all day long for this delicious meal. I haven't eaten a thing since supper last night. I took a deep breath trying to smell the delicious turkey. All I could smell was the stinch of smoke. I thought 0.K. what's burning. I went into the kitchen and saw my grand- mother putting red food colouring on this charcoaled turkey. I look- ed beside her and saw green potatoes. I also looked and saw the peas, they were white. My grandmother took the red turkey charcoaled turkey, the green potatoes and the white peas out to 'the table. I asked "why is the turkey red, the potatoes green, and the peas white." Grandma answered "I thought the colours would match the colour on the trees." by Darryl Holtby, S.A. Cawker P.S. "Far Out Christmas Dinner" It was Christmas Eve. This Christmas we were on theroad to' Ottawa. When all of a sudden the car stopped and out came a elf. He knocked on the car door. The elf said will you help me gather the reindeer. I said yes. How about calling them by name. They lined up. Where is Santa? He is in the house over there. He is putting the presents under the tree. I helped Santa save Christmas. Santa said '"'Can I have dinner with you?" "Yes," I said and dinner was far out that year. by Sara Durward, S.A. Cawker P.S. Grade 6 Celebrate! Warmest appreciation for your kind association. When you break it up into two parts: - Christ and mas there is a little word that is a name of a child that was born on that day. The word Christ is for the Christ child. Christmas is for the presents we share and think about because on that day is a person's birthday. We should be thankful for the presents that we get. Some people all over the world don't get presents. That's what Christmas means to me. by Jami Hyndman, Prince Albert P.S. Grade 5 Why I Like Christmas Well, there's a lot of reasons I like Christmas. For one I love singing Christmas Carols. Plus I love the food. For some kids its the presents. I don't think so. I think the true meaning is Jesus love and peace.
