Families enjoy Christmas Nestleton-Caesarea News by Mabel Cawker David & Regenia Walker, Avril & Kyle, held the Christmas festivities at their home at Scugog Point. Guests were Regenia's parents, Bert & Jean Hill and son Martin of Whitby...a very en- joyable time for all! Marion Hall, Wms. Point & Port Perry, hosted a lovely Christmas celebration with all family members present...Bob & Carlyn Hall, Rachael & Rebecca of Port Perry, and Bill & Loraine Hall, Christopher & Michael of Ajax, for a fine get-together. Cliff & Chris Davis, Scott and Carle, Hyde House, Scugog Pt. Rd., held a very enjoyable fami- ly dinner on Christmas Day...and guests were Cliff's son, Christopher & Anna Davis, and niece Eleanor & Tim Podmore and baby Lauren, all of Toronto, and Christina Henderson of Edin- burgh, Scotland, who is present- ly visiting with the Davis family. A special gét-together! For the Christmas weekend, Ralph & Leona Sadler, and Richard & Janice MacKenzie, Claire and Leslie, of Nestleton, hosted the Yuletide festivities for the family. Guests were Mrs. W.F. MacKenzie, Toronto, and Ian & Gloria Scott, Charles & Jen- nifer of Corbyville. Walter & Irma Welts of Nestleton, enjoyed having their family home for the Christmas festivities. Those present includ- ed: Ron & Barbara Pereman & Lisa, of Prince Albert, and Rayner & Kathy Welts, Nicole & Matthew of Nestleton. Neta Fish and Calvin & Yvonne Holland of Blackstock, "hosted" the Christmas dinner party for the family, on Tuesday. Those present included: Jim & Audrey 'Leishman, Michael, Jamie and William of Reaboro, Keith and Rhonda Bannister, Nicole & Crystal, Vicki Bannister & friend Lance, all of Peterborough, Calvin Bannister and friend Leanne of Stroud, and Chad, Craig and Alanna. A great fami- ly party!" Henry - & Effa Stainton, Williams Pt., have just celebrated 50 years of happiness. The festivities were held at son Doug & Jan Stainton's home in Oshawa. Family members planned this lovely affair well...a large assembly of relatives and friends were on hand to help Henry & Ef- fa celebrate this special wedding anniversary in style! Our very best to a great couple for many more happy anniversaries! Sam & Mabel Cawker, Scugog Point Rd., were in Oshawa for the Christmas celebration...with Alan & Eleanor Cawker, and family. Twenty-five members were pre- sent for this special occasion. After a beautiful meal...carol singing was enjoyed with Dan Kit- chen playing the guitar and wife Lea leading. Nothing says Merry Christmas better than music! What is more Christmassy than "Away in a Manger'--*'Silent Night" and the dozens of other songs that expresses so well those special feelings that make Christmas everyone's favourite time of the year! U.C.W. Christmas Meeting The Dec. 12th Christmas meeting of the U.C.W. was held at the attractive home of Neta Fish with a smaller attendance due to many away in the south and a number of members ill. General president Jean Williams opened the meeting and extended a warm welcome to all. She read a poem, "The Priceless Gift of Christmas." The worship. was led by Neta Fish reading "A Lovely Christmas Message." Marion Hall read Luke 2: 15 - 21 and "Away in a Manger" was sung. A story from the Observer was given...'O Come All Ye Faithful" sung and Neta closed this portion with prayer. Minutes read and approved and statement of treasurer given with a good balance. Cards sent to the ill. The ladies will be catering in January at the Nestleton Centre. 13 boxes of Christmas Cheer were acked for the shut-ins, to be elivered by the members. A delicious lunch with a Christmas flavour was partaken of and a .time of sociability en- joyed. A "surprise game' was played with Effa Stainton the lucky winner! What a delightful meeting! Nestleton Presbyterian Ladies Aid The Christmas meeting of the Ladies Aid was held at the home of Mamie Magill, with president Dorothy Lee extending a warm welcome to all. Opening hymn "Away in a Manger' was sung and the Lord's Prayer repeated. The Devotion presented by Dorothy Lee with timely theme, "Finding the Babe" with Scrip- ture Luke 2: 2 & 20 with the ex- planation from These Days booklet. During correspondence, a thank you card from George Heaslip was received, appeals for Christmas hampers and money was voted to be sent, white gifts to go to the Food Bank in Port Perry, cards were signed for Mr. and Mrs. George Scott...and greetings to be sent to their daughter Alison Scott... who is in France. The roll call - was answered with a "Christmas thought."" Closing hymn, 'O Come All Ye Faithful" followed by Benediction. During the program...readings were given by Joyce Taylor, Nor- ma Wolfe and Winnifred Davison entitled, "The good for nothing stocking' which proved very in- teresting. Lunch was served by Dorothy Lee and Mamie Magill. Norma Wolfe gave the apprecia- tion...for the delightful after- noon...and to those who had a part in planning the programme and tasty lunch.
