26 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Thursday, December 28, 1989 Blaze destroys workshed g Fire Department, Hall 1, worked quickly to con- trol a shed fire on Carnegie Beach Thursday. Although the shed was de- stroyed by the blaze, firefight- ers were able to stop the fire from spreading to nearby wood- en-framed homes along the lakefront. The shed was owned by car- penter Wayne Wanamaker. When the blaze erupted, Mr. Wanamaker was working in Port Perry and his wife was shopping in Oshawa. The fire was reported by Mr. Wanamaker's mother-in-law who was babysitting the Wana- maker's three children. "My mother-in-law was abso- lutely terrified," Mr. Wanamak- er told The Star on Friday, add- ing that two one hundred pound propane tanks were sitting by the shed. Although no cause of the fire has been determined, Mr. Wan- amaker believes it originated from a new propane heater in- stalled in the shed earlier that morning. Some of the items destroyed in the fire include a collection of tools handed down to Mr. Wan- amaker by his grandfather, a Students at S. A.
