Bantam Bs on hot streak The Sportsland Bantam II's are on a hot winning streak. After defeating a rough team from Beaverton last Sunday night, the "B' team has gone on to defeat a team from Fenelon Falls, twice. That's right, the first victory coming on Wednesday January 24, with an impressive score of 7-0. Port's two goalies, Matt Willetts and Adam Hayes shared the work between the pipes. The goal was scored by Todd Smart on a beautiful set up by Scott Wylie with an assist going to Chad Garvock as well. This line combined to score the next goal with Scott popping one between the pipes, assists going to Todd and Chad. This goal came twenty- four seconds after the first one. Scoring for the team next, with eight minutes left in the first, was Todd Smart with his second of the game. Assists going to hard- working Lindsay Parry and craf- ty Stevie (Yzerman) Desautels. This proved to be a beauty and was just the right goal to end the period. Port came out in the second period just-a-flying. The first goal came from Slick Sean McEnaney just three minutes into the period. The goal was unassisted. Port's next goal was scored by speedy Aron Royle, assisted by Jason Coutoulakis and Scott Heasman. Scott, a pee wee all- star defenseman, was brought up, as an extra attacker. Good hustle, Scotty. After the game on Wednesday, the team travelled to Fenelon Scugog Mens League Falls to play a game Saturday at 1:00 p.m., as last Friday, January 19 the Port squad had to cancel as they were in a tournament in Flesherton, Ont. Port fell behind just two minutes into the game as Fenelon Falls scored their first. Port answered back just one minute and forty-nine seconds later with Chad Garvock scoring with assists to Scott Wylie and Chris MacLeod. Port's next goal, six minutes later was scored by that smooth player, and hard-working Scott Wylie. Assist going to Sean McEnaney. Fenelon Falls, still playing great hockey, tied it up with a hard slapshot along the ice just a minute and a half later. Port then scored one early in the third with Todd Smart sliding it between the red pipes. Assists going to Ryan Picard. Wide open game The first game of the day saw Compton fall short of a comeback against Blanchards as the final was 5-3 Blanchards. Tallying for Blanchards were Richie LeFort 2 goals, 1 assist, Mike Driscoll 2 goals, 1 assist, and Jim Duncan 1 goal. Other assists to Keijo Kinnunen 2, Ivan Geer, Dan Carty and John Kotarba each with one. The lone scorer for Compton was Carl Fitzgerald with all 3 goals. Assisting were Wayne Fox with 3, Jim Beatty 2 and Carl Dur- ward one. Game two was mostly a one sid- ed affair in which Andersons easi- ly skated past Crandells by a score of 6-2. Counting for Andersons were Doug Bronson 2 goals, 2 assists, Colin Asselstine 2 goals, 1 assist, Jason Warner 1 goal, 3 assists, and Rob Kroonenberg 1 goal, 2 assists. Terry Flieler had 2 assists and Doug Suppelsa added a single assist. For Crandells it was Rick Hope unassisted and Don Orr from Bart Wager and John Robertson. The third game saw Sportsland win yet again as they had no trou- ble in defeating J & D 6-1. Capitalizing for Sportsland were Randy Prosser 2 goals, 2 assists, Larry Page 1 goal, 3 assists, Bob Beveridge 2 goals, Fred Moffatt 1 goal, 1 assist and Rob Evans 4 assists. The lone marker for J & D was Ron Jeffrey from Dave Milton and Dennis Lycett. Game four was a total blowout as Larocque "Electricuted"' Nor- tons 8-0. Scoring for Larocque were Glen McCoy 3 goals, 1 assist, Larry Jackson 2 goals, 2 assists, Rick Campbell 1 goal, 3 assists, Ed Olsen 1 goal, 1 assist, and Kevin Trapp 1 goal.
