Y Floor Hockey JUNIOR In Junior Floor Hockey action on Monday January 29 the Red Wings blasted the Blue Jays by a 9 fo'5 count. The Red Wings con- trolled play in the first period and secured a 3-0 lead. Chris Langford scored twice while Joey Drebit scored one for the Wings. Neil McDermott played well in goal to shut the Jays out this period. By the end of the second period the Red Wings had extend- ed their lead to 4-0. Chris Langford scored the lone goal of the period. In this period net- minder Matthew MacMaster shut the Jays out. The third period was a real barnburner at there was a total of 10 goals, five from each team. Evan Bertrand and Jeff Neal both scored twice for the Blue Jays this period, while Jon Chambers got a lone tally. Darryl Dalton, Dane Gray, Tyler Houthuys, Robbie Bredin and Joey Drebit all scored once for the Wings this period to give them a well earned 9 to 5 victory. SENIOR In Senior Floor Hockey action played on Monday January 29 the Red Rockets downed the Shooting Stars by a 7 to 1 count. Kris Holland and Andrew Jacobson both scored for the Rockets in the first period. Kevin Gray scored what proved to be the only goal of the game this period for the Shooting Stars. In the second period the Red Rockets extended their lead to 5-1. Scoring for the Rockets was Kris Holland with two goals and Matt Youmans with one. The third period was a close one but the Rockets got goals from Matt Youmans and Andrew Jacobson to secure the 7 to 1 victory. The difference in this game was really goaltending as Matt Youmans in the first period, Ap- drew Jacobson in the second and Kris Holland in the third all played outstanding between the pipes for the Red Rockets. Steve Doan, Aaron Stiller and Doug Short all had strong games up front for the Shooting Stars.
