by Wendy Clark Another month has come and gone. The afternoon of Monday, February 19 we had bowling. Top scorer was L. Blaikie. The follow- ing day we had a Heart Hunt. 1st prize winner was M. Lawrence with E. Draband coming 2nd. Midweek we held our important monthly Residents Council Meeting. We also were very pleas-~ ed to have the Lighthouse Acadamy Christain School pay us a visit and keep us well entertain- ed with music, singing and role playing. A very special thank you to this great bunch of kids. Thursday was a busy day with t-shirt and silk scarf designing. It was also the day for our monthly birthday party. Our hostesses for the party were the Court Lady Snowbirds. An interesting game of Singo was enjoyed by all. Over supper hour we had the Supper Club featuring Kentucky Fried Chicken, Friday, February 23 was Hug- a-Day. Mr. B. Moroz sponsored the most hugs. Later on many en- joyed Bingo and Cocktail Hour. The last week of February began with a Romance movie on Monday, February 26. Todays feature was '"The Golden Honey- moon." The next day we boarded a bus and headed off to the Red Barn Bingo Hall in Oshawa. This program was sponsored by several clubs including the Scugog Rape Crisis. We received Myrtle News Laural Hamer was hostess for the February meeting of Myrtle U.C.W. Following devotions and a short business, special guests for the evening were introduced by Jean Stachow. Birgit and Brian Campbell are associated with Emmanuel International whose headquarters are in Stouffville. On the last day of the month many residents were able to meet their Pen Pals that they have been corresponding with since September. These friends are from a Gr. 5 class at R.H. Cor- nish. Their new friends helped them with decorating the Nursing Home for St. Patricks Day. They also put on a delightful skit and did a reading. A big thank you to our new and dearest friends. Many crafts are on the go in preparation for our Spring Bazaar. Friday March 2 featured a game of concentration and wheel of fortune. Till the 21st of March we will be holding an Irish Buck Contest. For every activity that a resident takes part in he or she will receive an Irish buck. They proceed to save these and can spend them at the Irish Auction on March 21. Birthday wishes are going out to Mr. Laverne Martyn (9), Mrs. Maud Priest (9) and Mrs. Maude Edmonds (16). The residents and staff extend their sincerest sympathy to the family and friends of Mr. Frank Dowson, Mrs. Mertie Stone and Mr. Johnas Davis.
