Juniors have continued their quest for a league championship. On Saturday March 3 they hosted the team from Woodville who have not lost a league game this year and were defeated soundly by a score of 12 to 1. This team certainly showed why they are playing in the Pro- vincial championships as the Central Region representatives. Our lone scorer during this game was Jennifer King. On Sat. March 10 the Port Perry I.G.A Juniors travelled to Oakwood to meet the Mariposa team. The Mariposa team took a 4 to 2 lead after the first half due to penalties that Port Perry had to kill off. In the second half Port turned things around as they outscored Mariposa 6 to 3 to come home with the victory. Scorers for Port in this game were Danielle Lally 2 assists; JoAnne Zaal 3 assists, 1 goal; Denna Lovering 3 assists, 1 goal, Jennifer King 2 assists, 1 goal; Val Payne 1 assist, 2 goals; and Kristin Armstrong 2 goals. Although they did not figure in the scoring, the defence of Jennifer, Kathy, Mandee, and Laurie along with Bristol in goal did a great job. One more victory and we go to the finish. Our next game is March 25 at 12:30 in Port Perry against Warkworth. See you at the arena! Pictured are Wednesday afternoon Woodward, lead, Jeff Parry, skip, Kevin Stewart, vice, Duane Empringham, second. Absent from photo is Amy Grills, who is the teams regular second.
