Sympathy is ex- tended to Bruce's family and to his sisters and other relatives. The family was remembering the passing of their mother Jean Just a year ago. Funeral service will be in the United Church on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Marion Hodge is recovering at home following surgery in the Bowmanville Hospital. Get well soon. Leslie Taylor is still not very well. He is at home following surgery some time ago. I am sure he would appreciate a card or let- ter from you. The Blackstock Skating Club will be holding its annual Ice Car- nival on Sunday, March 25 begin- ning at 2 p.m., at the Blackstock Arena. The theme of the carnival is "Toyland in Ice." Everyone is welcome. Many of our travelling folk have returned from Southern holidays. Shirley Smith has returned from an extended stay in Barbados. Five families enjoyed a skiing trip to Vermont - Brian and Carolyn Morton, Sharon and George Wilson, Ted and Marg Kemp, Tallya and Denzil Moore, Don and Louise Swain and families. Once again the Lioness Club will sponsor a Cartwright Minor Ball team for the coming season. Plans were made for the Awards banquet and dance which will be held at Nestleton Hall on Saturday April 14. All curlers, past and present as well as anyone interested in a pleasant evening is invited to get tickets from any member of the Executive as soon as possible. Ashleigh was sleeping and I was busy doing things around the house, looked up at the clock and it was 12:40. I don't think she has ever slept that long before and I knew for sure it was to late to get it in. Sorry folks. Well it's that time again, time to turn in the skates for the ball glove. Minor ball Registration will" be held-at the Seagrave church in the basement on Friday March 23, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., and on Saturday March 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.. The children will be sized for their sweaters at this time. Also please bring your OHIP number with your. The cost this year is $20.00 per child or the family rate of $50.00. Congratulations to many Seagrave teens who placed in the Science Fair at Port Perry High School. Coming first in the Biological Division was our son Bill Sandiford with his partner Suzie Allin. Coming 2nd in the Physical Science Division was Mark Jansen and his partner An- drew Frew.
