The first game against Little Britain proved to Port to be a challenging one. The Malmont Farm boys took a strong lead cashing in with 3 goals, while Port's defense kept Little Britain from causing any real threat to the net. It was the third period before Little Britain could return any fire and tie up the game. Both teams continued to challenge the net without any further success. Many thanks to Paul Shrigley for a fine effort between the pipes. Scoring for Port were Tommy Chambers and Jeff Clarke, unassisted and Kevin Gray assisted by Rob Murphy. The team then travelled to Oshawa and met with the Black Hawks of the L.N.H.L. The intent was there but Port was stopped on every occasion by a very strong goalie. The two-way action prov- ed to nonstop as both teams con- tinued to hammer the net. Oshawa finally found the net, but only after many spectacular saves by Darryl Holtby. Once again Oshawa was there to put us -.on the bottom side of a 2-0 game. Being previously. outdone by the 'Black-Hawks, Port was .determin- the L.N.H.L.. After falling behind by 2 goals, Port found themselves putting together some great offen- sive action and cashed in with 2 quick goals. By the final buzzer, Port edged at the Red Wings with a score of 5-3. Scoring for Port was Darryl McEnaney and Tim Fitzpatrick with 2 goals and 1 assist each, Tommy Chambers, Todd Parry and Jeff Clarke 2 assists each Brad Morton 1 goal and Kevin - Gray 1 assist. The next night the Malmont boys continued their good fortune as again they came from behind on a 2-0 deficit to win the game against the Bruins of the L.N.H.L.. Port lit the scoreboard three times while their defense continued to rob Oshawa of any further chances of scoring. Their good defensive action is at- tributed to Jason Logan, Jeff Clarke, Rob Murphy, Mike Heasman and Kent Johnstone. Scoring for Port was Todd Parry 2 goals, Tommy Chambers 1 goal, Tim Fitzpatrick and Kevin Gray 1 assist each. Brad Shanley has been out of the line-up due to holidaying. The boys have another exhibi- _-tion game iii Oakwood on Tuesday "night as they gear up for the up- coming Buffalo tournament.
