Blue Jays clip Red Wings 13-9 Junior YMCA Junior Floor Hockey was back in action after the March Break, Monday March 19th. The Blue Jays took this game by a score of 13-9 over the Red Wings. The Blue Jays took an early lead with 3 goals, one each by Jeff Neal, Scott Brownson and Stephen Nagy. Scott Brownson was playing for the Blue Jays for this evening. The Red Wings scored 2 goals, one each by Robbie Bredin and Aaron Chambers. The Blue Jays maintained their lead in the second period with 4 goals, one each by Evan Ber- trand, Jon Chambers, Darryl Dalton and Scott Brownson. Dar- ryl Dalton was also playing for the Blue Jays tonight. The Red Wings scored 2 goals in the 2nd period, one by Robbie Bredin and one by Chris Langford. Both teams played hard in the 3rd period. The Red Wings fought back by scoring 5 goals, one by Dane Gray and 4 by Robbie Bredin. This gave Robbie 6 goals for the evening! The Blue Jays scored 6 goals in the 3rd period, one each by Jon Chambers and Evan Bertrand and 2 each by Darryl Dalton and Jeff Neal. Senior In Senior floor hockey action played at R.H. Cornish in Port Perry on Monday, March 19, the Shooting Stars blasted the Red Rockets by a 14 to 8 score. At the end of one period the Shooting Stars held a 2-0 lead on goals by Kevin Pike and David Vershuuren. The Shooting Stars owned the second period as they outscored the Rockets by a 7 to 3 score. Seth - Gray scored 4 times and David Vershuuren 3 times for the Stars. John Hall, Kris Helland and Justin Kowalczyk finally got the Rockets on the scoreboard. The second period ended with the Stars leading 9 to 3. The third period was the only close one as both teams scored five times. Kris Holland scored 3 times and Justin Kowalczyk twice for the Rockets this period. Kevin Pike (2), David Vershuuren, Seth Gray and Dennis Goodman (best goal of the night) notched the markers for the Stars to make the final score 14 to 8. Cameron Cook and Mark Sup- pelsa played a fine game for the Rockets while Doug Short played a good game in net for the Shooting Stars. David Vershuuren and Seth Gray were the stars of the game with 5 goals each.
