Janice Evans was home from Peterborough for the weekend. All the family gathered at the home of Ross and Barbara Evans on Saturday evening for a big bir- thday celebration for Ross. Con- gratulations and Best Wishes from all of us. Church was at Utica this week and all enjoyed a sermon by Rev. Doug Whidden of Richmond Hill, as our Minister Rev. Nancy Waterman is on an extended maternity leave. Nancy and Glenn were happy to welcome their new daughter, Elizabeth Rose at Stouffville-Newmarket Hospital last Monday. Both are doing well and arrived home at Goodwood on Friday. Congratula- tions and best wishes from all of us. The Baster family held a fami- ly birthday party for Julie on Sun- day afternoon. Best wishes Julie. And yet another birthday - Greetings to Earl Taylor on the April Fools Day. His sister from Cannington was a dinner guest. April 8 is Palm Sunday. The Rev. Frank Briskin of Toronto will Poeagh at Utica at 11 a.m. We will have guest ministers until the end of August. These ministers are busy men and do not need the work. So, if they can take the time and drive all the way down here don't you think the least we can do is spend the hour with them. Epsom Church 11 a.m. On Good Friday, April 13 the choir will take the service at Epsom Church at 10 a.m. Youth Group breakfast at 8:30. Proceeds of the collection for Grain Bank. Rick and Paula Wilson and son Jesse were Sunday supper guests with Earl and Marie Wilson. Did we have a good time at our Texas Dance on Saturday even- ing? I'll say we did. Everything was hopping. Everything so beautifully arranged. Everyone smiling, everyone happy - who could ask for more. Then what a beautiful lunch our hostesses and hosts had prepared. Our hats are off to you Lisa and Neil, Pat and John - you are the best. Several people from the com- munity attended the Lynn Evans art exhibit in the Tokai Room at Uxbridge Library. The display will be there for a month. Congratulations to our boys who participated in a hockey tour- nament this past weekend in Port Perry. I was pleased to see Mr. H, Gourlie out for a walk this afternoon, The Uxbridge Seniors enjoyed bowling with Rouge Hill Seniors at the Rouge Hill Bowling Alley last week, Lloyd and Irene Capstick visited on Thursday evening with Norman and Betty Tapscott. It is so good to see Irene around again. John Tapscott who has been visiting his parents, arrived back at his charge in Orangedale, Cape Breton safely. Good luck John. This has been a busy week for Maurice and Marydale Tapscott as they are finishing their curling activities for another year. On Sunday they had their family home. Mr. and Mrs. Bill McKay visited their daughter Elspeth and her husband Paul Dier and children in Kingston last week. While there they attended the funeral of Paul's father, Edward Dier. A good turnout Sunday morning at Church an hour earlier enjoyed a lovely duet by Debbie Beattie and Mary Jean Till, as well as the children's April Fool's Tricks. Our thanks to the "New Jerusalem' group of young teenagers for a wonderful musical Sunday evening to a full house. All who attended enjoyed their talent and inspiring message in song and look forward to hearing them again. The afternoon U.C.W. ladies will meet in the church, Wednes- day, April 4th at 1:30 p.m.. The Evening unit of U.C.W will meet in the Church at 8 p.m. on Wednesday. All ladies are invited to both of these meetings. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Gough of Markham, and Mr. and Mrs. Wm.
