Mullin said THBA staff made 20 calls to the line and received correct informa- tion only five times. "The only times they got it right was when we asked a very specific question," he said. "When we asked a simple yet general question, as most people do, they answered incorrectly," For example, asked if a new home purchased in December, 1990, would be subject to the GST, federal staff answered emphatical- ly it would not be.
