John Greenwood is widely known as a songwriter and performer through his many concert tours in Canada and the United States. His songwriting has won him three awards from the American Song Festival in Los Angeles. He has contributed to Christian songbooks, also to CBC Television and radio. Don't miss this oppor- tunity to experience his unique talent, a musical even the whole Of course we are all looking for- ward to celebrating the ap- proaching Easter weekend in various ways. After this the week will be leading up to a very busy weekend for the Island U.C.W.'s with their annual double func- tions, at the Church & Communi- ty Hall. With reference to the above, the date is Sat. April 21. At the United Church the "Grace" U.C.W. will serve one of the delicious hot lun- cheons from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.. During the early part of the mor- ning, the "Head'" U.C.W. members will be bustling around to get all the crafts in place for sale & display. Part of the group will place the home baked goodies on display for the sale. This has always been an interesting & fulfilling day for all who attend. Last week was a very pleasant week for the renewal of friendship with people who formerly lived on the Island and left lovely memories with the people who got to know them well. First there was Mrs. Joyce Heayn who lived most of her life at the "Head." You will remember our concern when we learned she was finally going to the Wellesley Hospital for back surgery. Now we are pleased to know she has returned home much improved but gaining recovery slowly. Her daughter Julie from the north, returned to Songwriter performs at Burns family will enjoy. Happy Easter everyone! "Our Lord has written the pro- mise of the Resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in Springtime!" A quote from Mar- tin Luther. Sunnybrook for tests and assurance of progress from her accident of last summer. Next there was a visit from Jack Barry of Alberta who had not visited since 6 years ago. He suffers some ill health but is cheerful with his affliction. Jack was accompanied by his younger sister, Allison, who also lived on Scugog Rd. 5 about 30 years ago on the farm now owned by the Middletons at the "Head." As we hadn't heard from Mrs. Alva Thompson, now of Rich- mond Hill, since Christmas, it was great to get a phone call from her. But we are sorry to hear she and Clare have had their han- dicaps since leaving Port Perry.
