Kinsmen need donors for blood clinic this Thursday Anyone wishing to give the gift of life, is encouraged to come out to the Blood Donor Clinic at the Kinsmen Hall, April 12, The Clinic is sponsored by the Kinsmen, and Kinettes of Port Perry. They hold the clinic twice a year, and are hoping for another successful turn out. One clinic is organized by the Kinettes, and one by the Kins- men, with each helping the oth- er with anything they can. Individual homeowners can also become involved in this Clean-up Campaign. Sand that has accumulated on boulevards and sidewalks over the winter can be swept to curb-side so as Township Works crews can pick it up. You can go for an 'Ecology Walk" along any street or road- side and pick-up the accumulated litter, bottles and cans. Recycle as many materials as possible. The Township of Scugog Parks Dept. while helping to co-ordinate this project is also committed to the Pitch-In campaign. Recycling containers will be placed in Palmer Park this summer so as cans and bottles will not end up in landfill sites. Over 100 trees will be planted in area parks in late April through a joint effort of KRCA and the Township. Scugog Township is also attempting to make composters available at cost to residents through a Ministry of the Environment Pro- gram (due to demand for these units and their short supply this program may be delayed). It was tried at the school but due to age restrictions (a donor must be 18 to give blood, or have par- ents consent), there were not many donors, and wasof noreal benefit to hold it there. He said that the Red Cross feels this is a good location, and the availability of refrigeration is also an asset. The clinic will be run strictly by volunteers from the Kin- ettes, and Kinsmen along with official workers from the Red Cross. The Clinic will take place on Thursday April 12, at the Kins- men Hall on Lilla Street be- tween 12 noon, and 8 p.m. There will be coffee, dough- nuts, and juice available for all donors.
