Cornish students displayed their acting abilities in a presentation enti- tled, "Let the Kids do the Talk- ing, The skits were performed by the "Cornish Cougar Company" which is made up of Grade 7 and 8 students, and is based on a drama workshop "produc- tion" theme. This type of production is per- formed with few props, and relies largely on the actors', and directors' abilities. Many of the plays were writ- ten and directed solely by the students. They explored their creativi- ty, and the end result was a great variety of entertainment for all. The students put on a num- ber of short skits for the audi- ence, some humourous, and others educational. The event was held last Thursday, and Friday even- ings, for parents, friends, and students. Some of the plays performed included: Cinderella in the Nineties, Tender Places, Ru- mours, The Great Gobonzo, Kid's Rights, The Loner, and I Was Mucking About in Class. Opening hymn + God who made the earth, was sung. Miracle of Spring was read by Janet Vernon, Prayer by Eva Hunter. Hymn - Love Devine, Theme - "Growth. within the family." During the business period, a committee was put in to plan Strawberry Supper for June 24th. Tickets will be on sale in a few weeks. Also some pdvanced plans for a quilt show next yearin May, so if you enjoy making quilts and would like to show one this will by your chance. A reminder to any of the ladies who can bake for the Hospital Spring Fair, Saturday May 26th, in the Port Perry United Church, it would be ap- preciated. The U.C.W. ladies will be taking part in the outdoor wor- ship service and congregational picnic at Enniskillen Park at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday May 27th. There will be no service at the church that dav On Sunday, Heather Ellise Anderson the daughter of Roderick and Susan Anderson of Prince Albert, was Baptised. A large number of family and friends attended the service. The annual Rabies Clinic at the Community Centre will be held Saturday May 26th from 10-2 p.m. - charge $7.00. The Parent Play Ground Com- mittee would like to thank the parents and everyone who sup- ported their Auction Sale on Saturday. For the people who came to buy and Neil De Shane for his great help.
