J $6.95 ¢ 3 Coco Mulch Congregational meeting on Sunday Ontario South District Annual Held in Port Perry A very productive all day meeting of Ontario South District Women's Institute was "hosted" by the Honeydale Branch, Wed., May 23, held at St. John's Presbyterian Church, with 82 delegates from the 8 Branches at- tending. As well, many invited guests were present and welcom- ed cordially. Before opening at 9:15 a.m. cof- fee and light refreshments were partaken of by the travellers; many coming some distance. Meeting opened with President Mary Cannon of the Honeydale Br. extending a warm welcome to all present. President Helen McKean chaired the meeting, assisted by Secretary Betty Reader. Warm, friendly greetings were expressed by our genial Mayor, Howard Hall to the delegates attending. " Provincial . Board Director, Doris Dunn, formally ratified the: District Directors, and presented a concise, interesting report. of Provincial Board proceedings . held in April. , od The delicious noon luncheon was thoroughly enjoyed, sery by the Co: sh A dies Aid. Following the meal the head table guests were introduced from the five Districts within Subdivision 8 - York West, York North, York Centre, York East and Ontario South. The introductions were made by 1st Vice President Aleta Campbell, Brooklin Branch. Psalm 27 was read responsive- ly, and the Scripture readings were from Exodus 20, and 1 Romans: 18-32. Rev. Calder spoke to the Sunday School children before they went to classes; about the wonders of Nature in God's creation of the world. The minister spoke on the text; 'You shall have no other Gods before me." 3 The Church was built on the Ten Commandments and early Chris- tian settlers struggled against many odds to establish. their homes, churches and schools.
