Nursing Home residents keep busy "During the morning hours of Monday, May 14th, we had many ladies enjoy a special Mothers Day breakfast with all the right i . The afternoon was for 'ladies only" as they were pampered with manicure and facial sessions. The next day (Tues.) many residents attended a bible quiz and slide show. Early Wednesday morning a bus load headed down to Men- nonite Country for a very memorable trip. Our friends from Uxbridge N.H. joined us for a wonderful day. First stop was at the farmers market (Kitchener) where several residents took ad- vantage of some great bargains. We then stopped at the Conestoga Inn for a delicious buffet lunch. We once again boarded the bus and took in a guided tour of Men- nonite homes, buggies, etc. Everyone was very tired when it came time for the journey home. We arrived back home around 9:30 p.m. and were desperately ready for bed. Needless to say, many residents did not make it to mor- ning exercises on Thursday. A few energetic folks took in the afternoon by painting T-shirts. Over supper hour we had the Sup- per Club. Todays feature was a BBQ. What a great turn out!!! Many residents expressed how good those BBQ hot dogs and hamburgers were. This busy week ended with a bingo and then the ever-popular Cocktail Hour. Many residents were happy to - see Victoria Day weekend arrive. This meant 3 days of rest and boy, everyone needed it after that busy, first week. Morning exercises' started the morning off on Tues- day May 22nd. Latorintheda we sponsored a Royalty Quiz featiir- ing a trivia on our famous royal by Wendy Clark family. The next day we had our Residents Council meeting. Plans for summer trips were discussed as a group. Thursday May 24th a' group of residents headed to 5 Points Mall for a day of shopping. We all enjoyed our delicious din- ner at the Golden Gate Restaurant. Friday arrived and with it came our Staff Apprecia- tion Tea. The residents express- ed their gratitude to the dedicated and very hard-working staff members that work at C.N.H. Bowmanville man killed in collision with truck A 30 year old Bowmanville man was killed May 25 when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a truck on High- way 2, just east of the Courtice Road. Police say Joseph Wisnie- ski was eastbound and pulled into the westbound lane to pass another vehicle. gate the accident.
