Homestead Pee Wees win opener Homestead Furniture Pee Wee Girls soccer team opened their 1990 season against Whitby Nurse = Chev-Olds in Whitby with a 5-3 © victory. Our goals managed to open up a 2-0 lead in the first half on goals by Shawna Cornish and Kelly Phipps. At the start of the second half Whitby came on strong and scored two quick goals to tie the game 2-2. The second Whitby goal 'seemed to spur the furniture gals on and quickly they regained the lead on a goal by Shawna Cornish on a pass from Sara Cosway. Moments later Kelly Phipps scored to make the score 4-2. Whitby came back with one more, but it was followed by Kel- ly Phipps' third goal of the game to bring the score to 5-3. Sarah Coyne and Sara Cosway shared the goaltending job. Other members of the team are Christina Clark, Emily Cosway, Lisa Dodd, Mari Farquharson, Jennifer Tufts, Sara Brown, Crystal Hill, Katherine Ellis and Lisa Azzopardi.
