That's right. Scugog Town- ship won the Participaction challenge over rival Uxbridge by an incredible 10 per cent dif- ference. Forty-two per cent (or 6,600) of our residents walked, jogged, biked, volleyed, skipped, etc., ' ¥ [J [3 ' ow compared to 32 per cent partici- pationin Uxbridge Township. And our township even beat Newrastioyidio recorded 38 per centinvolvement. According to Scugog Partici- paction co-ordinator Maril Pearce, Kent Farndale was the first person to call the chal- lenge hotline in our township. "The senior citizen club alone brought in 400-500 names," she told the Star. But the highlight of the day, Mrs. Pearce said, was when a 92-year-old resident called in to say he had done his part.
