Social club picnic is at Cameron Lake Vacation Bible School Aug. 13 to 17 at Epsom. Call Mrs. R. Sutherland for information. August 12 there will be no ser- vice at Epsom or Utica. There will be a joint service at Good- wood at 9:30 a.m. as Nancy and Glen are having Elizabeth Rose baptized at this special service which will be conducted by Rev. David Clinker. Nancy and Glen have invited the congregation back to the manse after the ser- vice for cake and coffee. _ August 19 will be the congrega- tional pot luck lunch and picnjc outdoors after the 11 a.m. church service at the Redwoods home. If it is a fine day bring a lawn chair, bathing suit, towels, fishing rod and plan to enjoy a day boating, fishing, playing horse shoes or swi . If raining, the service will be conducted in Goodwood Church. August 26 - Everyone is invited to the Epsom-Utica Social Club picnic at the Tapscott cottage on Cameron Lake. Enjoy swimming, boating and etc. Work up a good appetite for a pot luck supper. On Sat. the Evans family held a picnic in Elgin Park, Uxbridge. There were about 75 present. This was one huge belated birthday party for Mrs. Gladys Evans. On Sunday Grace and Floyd Evans, Ross and Barbara Evans joined another large party. This was in honour of Tom Pickett's 50th birthday. Ross and Carole Bailey arrived home safely after attending the wedding of the .daughter of Sid and Dorothy Kenk in Alberta. Then Carole is off this week with a friend to the East Coast. 'Elwood Tripp enjoyed a few days with-Norine and Alan Card. It can get very lonesome in a nur- sing home; the staff try so hard to make things pleasant but nothing can replace your near and dear relatives. My daughter, Yvonne, grand- daughter Heather and great- grandchildren Nicholas, Karley and Katie 6f Oshawa called to visit with me on Friday. On Wed. evening Earl and Elizabeth Taylor and her cousins Mr. and Mrs. John Armstrong and John's brother William of Locust Hill and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Armstrong of Ill. U.S.A, had sup- per at Haugens then settled down for a long, long, evening of reminiscing and catching up on family news. Rev. John Tapscott of Halifax is holidaying at the home of his parents Norm and Betty Tapscott. Marie and Earl Wilson visited Grace and Floyd Evans Sunday evening. Bill and Melba McKay spent a couple of days at Elephant Lake at the Stevenson's cottage. Dr. and Mrs. Wm. McKay of Halifax are visiting his parents for a few days. Bradley and Paul Ashton of Oakwood have been visiting their grandmother, Ruth Ashton. I think they spent half their time at Uncle Keith's next door. Their parents took them home on Monday. On Sunday Ivan Clarke and Lisa Farmer visited with Don and Stella Asling. A squirrel tried to play Santa Claus the other day and came down the chimney into the oil stove.
