Crime Stoppers air gun theft re-enactment Crime Stoppers and Durham Regional Police are asking for the Public's help in solving a Break & Enter and the Theft of a large number of guns in Oshawa. Sometime during the night of May 5th and 6th the premises of Gagnon's Sports at 818 Simcoe Street South was broken into. En- try was gained by breaking the glass in the front door. " The pieces were individually taken by the thieves and set on the ground so as not to set off the alarm or disturb the neighbours. A hole, big enough to get through was made and once in- side the glass removed from the gun counter and the guns were taken. These include handguns of all makes and calibres. The stolen property is valued at over $50,000. A Re-enactment of this Break and Enter will be shown on CITY TV, Channel 57, Cable 7 on Thurs- day, September 13th during the 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. News. It will also be shown on CHEX TV and CKVR TV on Friday, September 14th, again during the their news and over the weekend. It is interesting that in March a brick was thrown through this same glass door. The alarm sounded and the suspects ran away. At that time someone was likely testing the alarm system. Extra alarm systems have now been installed and all glass doors and windows have bars. These guns are extremely dangerous in the wrong hands. Have you any idea who took them? Have you any idea where they are? Have you any information about this Theft? If so, you can call Crime Stop- pers. You'll never have to give your name or appear in court. A cash reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest. The Crime Stoppers phone number is: 436-8477 that's 436-TIPS. LONG DISTANCE - CALL COLLECT.
