Rob & Carolyn and Harry & Doris Hill attended the wedding of Claudette Coulter and David Lewis, at Oshawa on Saturday afternoon. I had the pleasure of attending an Ukranian shower, along with Jim & Judy Gibson & girls, on Sunday in Oshawa. The gifts were Anniversary Sunday at United Church Fall has arrived. My toes are cold. It's time to think about bringing in my geraniums and tomatoes. Where is my winter coat? It was so cold on Sunday that Beaverton United Church cancell- ed out on our baseball game. We will reschedule. Now we have to find out if they were afraid of be- ing defeated. How about baseball in the snow? Think about it kids. Can we do it? An "Appreciation Party' was heid for Rev. Don Tansley on Sun- day. Rev. Don has decided to take it easier. He was a very good asset to our churches. He will be missed. We hope to continue to see him about. Thanks for all those long hours of dedication. Bonnie & Bob Wilson from Beaverton were supper guests of John & Peggy Bredin on Sunday. It was good that it wasn't too cold to start the car. Sunday service at Prince Albert was lead by Rev. John Brown. It was very nice having him back. John helped console our baseball team. beautiful and about two hundred guests sat down to a super dinner. Harry and Doris Hill have just returned from a bus trip to Frankenmeuth, Mich. and Agwa Canyon. Men's & Women's basketball and volleyball night will begin ~ Wednesday, Oct. 3 from 8 to 10 p.m. at S.A. Cawker Public School. For info call 985-9127. There was a good turnout at our September meeting of Women's Institute, and everyone looked nif- ty in their old fashioned hats. Then Earla Hill told us of her trip to New Zealand and Australia. Mr. & Mrs. Russ Miller of Pickering visiting with her sister Margaret and Jack Couper- thwaite on Sunday. Mrs. Lillian Empringham of Claremont accompanied Margaret & Jack Couperthwaite, to daughter Marions at Orillia on , Sat. where they celebrated their forty-fifth wedding anniversary. Sunday school is in desperate need of girls. There were only 3 out on Sunday. Fortunately there were 2 in my class. Girls don't forget Sunday School 11:30. Prince Albert School is having an exciting time talking about dinosaurs. They are doing all sorts of fun things - even eating. Prince Albert School Advisory met on Monday evening. The next meeting is October 15. Please plan to attend. We may be small but we're active. Next Sunday is Anniversary Sunday at Prince Albert United Church so there will be no Sunday School but there will be lunch served after church. Also the weekend after is Thanksgiving. The Sunday school will be receiv- ing a phone call to see if they are available to help. Sympathy is extended to Linda & Ralph Elliot and family due to the loss of Linda's grandfather.
