Your openness and generosity have given us a special sense of belonging in the com- munity; you have made us feel very welcome here. Special recognition must go to Mayor Howard Hall for suppor- ting us in so many ways, and to the staff at the Port Perry Star for their enthusiasm, support, and of course the visibility they gave to the program. Their help has been crucial to the success of Canada World Youth in Scugog. _.Special thanks also go to the in- dividuals who have shared their knowledge or expertise with the group: Joel Bagg and Sandra Campbell at OMAF, Liz Fulford, Barbara Evans of Bethesda- Reach Women's Institute, Rev. Johansen wrote to you in recent papers and I hear- tily shout "Bravo, Ladies!" It's time moral citizens speak out for decency in our community and country. A few months ago, I took the time to look at titles and to listen to a few pieces of secular 'music' that many of the young people are caught up in today. To my horror, I could not believe what I was reading or hearing. Yes, parents and citizens, it is hard to catch the words over the beat, but the teens have it down to a science and we must sit down and listen, at least for a few minutes. The pornographic filth, profanity, garbage and Satanic influence that is being implanted in the minds of our children must not be tolerated. As M. Johansen stated, "For our kids sake, Listen, Speak Out and if necessary Throw Out this Dark Metal Music" and Rap. We must help our teens unders- tand how they can and do become brainwashed through this music. Parents, we need to help our kids replace this music.
