This is the second dinner- theatre musical presented by Ken Atkinson at the Islander. Earlier this year, he staged Al Capone's Birthday that was well received by local audienc- es. The Islander is a restau- rant/dance hall on Concession 10, Scugog Island, just a short drive from Port Perry, and well suited to stage a dinner/theatre musical production. Ken, who plays the roll of a 50's character, complete with black leather jacket and greased-back hair, describes "Harbour High" as a musical with plenty of energy and action on the stage. with her friends. are used. Youngsters are invited to submit either a poster or essay to the Port Perry Star office (236 Queen St) no later than Friday, November 16 at 12:00 noon. ! The posters and essays will be judged by a panel and the winners anneunced during Re- cycling Week in Ontario which runs from November 19-25. The theme for the contest is "The Future is Rs. Recycle, Reuse, Reduce." The wining essay and poster will be forwarded to the Recycling Council of Ontario for judging in a province-wide com- petition. The essays and posters must focus on the need to re- duce, reuse and recycle. The two local winners will receive Cotton Ginny/Coconut Joe t-shirts. So come on, kids, get out your pencils and crayons. Write an essay or create a colourful poster. Have some fun and let's get everyone thinking about the Three Rs when it comes to gar- bage and trash.
