Sporisiand one for two last week On Wednesday, October 24, Port Perry Sportsland hosted the tough team from Millbrook and lost 5-0. Port played a much bet- ter game this time compared to the 12-1 blow-out 24 hours later. Sportsland travelled to Stouff- ville and skated away with a 7-2 win. Stouffville opened the scor- ing early in the first period, but it was all Port Perry from there on. Jason Phillips opened the scor- ing in the second period with a good effort in front of the net to poke ,it by the Stouffville goaltenders. Todd Smart picked up the assist. 27 seconds later Port took the lead on a beautiful pass from Jason Coutolakis to Chad Garvock who wasted no time in putting it between the pipes. With Port ahead 2-1, Jason Coutolakis scored on a nice pass- ing play from Chad, and Steve. With a little over 5 minutes to go in the second period, Jason Phillips scored his second of the BOAT WINTERIZING and INDOOR STORAGE available. In the third period Louie Whit- field scored 1 of Ports 2 goals on a nice solo effort. Port's final goal came at the 2:11 mark of the 3rd when Todd won the draw and fed it back to Scott Heasman who blew it by the Stouffville gcaltender. Rroombull Results After a week off for the annual tournament everyone was anx- ious to get back to business and rivals. B & R / Swamp played Blackstock to start things off. Blackstock got on the board quick, scoring :23 seconds into the game. Kevin Grieve from Bill Pratt doing the damage. The score stayed that way until 1:47 left in the first when Tim Ashbridge assisted by Dan McKee knotted the game at 1. 'The second period saw B & R pull away with 3 unanswered goals. Tim Ashbridge from Ken Bryant, ahd Steve Robinson from Ken Bryant and Willie Edwards made the score 3-1 with Brian Pomeroy from Mike Mole icing the game way for B & R. The 2nd game was a very tight affair with Emmerson's and Woody's playing to a scoreless draw. Rick Lee's and Larr Reurekas played well earning the shutouts. In O.T: it was-a one man wrecking crew with Charlie Den- nis scoring 3 goals to win the game for Emmerson's. Danny Brown had the loan assist. Monsma Electric continued their undefeated play in the league defeating Framer's 6-1. Tom Hansford from Tom Carroll, Kevin Ibbitson from Greg Lepine, Gregg Gibson unassisted, Tom Powell from Tom Carroll and Tom Hansford, Tom Carroll unassisted and Sean McQuerrie from George Mondor scored for Monsma. Tyler Renaud from Eric Kristenson replied for the Framers. Port Perry Merchant Ladies earned their 2nd straight victory, this one by the way of default as Sport's Den of Oshawa was unable to field a team. Sharon Robinson scored to make the default official.
