by Wendy Clark As October is quickly coming to an end so is the beautiful fall col- ours. It won't be long now till everything is covered with fluffy white snow. Monday, October 22nd we had many ladies take part in having facials done while the men took part in shoe shine club. They were well prepared for the delightful evening ahead of them. A much- enjoyed dance was the feature of 1 the evening. A special thank you to D.J.'s Bill & Shae Harper for keepin' the night dancing away. The following day some of our late night party goers were able to do some baking. Wednesday sponsored the mon- thly residents council meeting. Many Christmas outings were suggested. Our monthly birthday party was on Thursday evening. Many folks took part in a sing-song and bingo. Everyone enjoyed the cake and refreshments. Friday (26th) arrived and with it we held a pumpkin decorating contest. We sure had some fine creations of scary & weird look- ing pumpkins. Another week began with the making of candy apples on Mon- day. Those shiny red apples all covered with sweet candy sure did look delicious. Tuesday, October 30th we held our annual Halloween Party. Many thanks to the many guests that joined us. Especially the Pine Ridge Cloggers, the Country Rovers & dancers, and Louise Hartney & friends. Congratula- tions to the many costume win- ners, but everyone deserves credit for the great participation involved. Halloween arrives and with it brought Mrs. Watson's Grade 1 class from R.H. Cornish to display their wonderful Hallo- ween costumes. The residents really enjoy seeing these kids and spending some time with them. John & Peggy Bredin & gang travelled to Peterborough to have dinner with John's sister & brother-in-law. We spent a great deal of time talking about old times since it is a year next weekend that their dad was buried. Thursday night euchre had 10 tables. Ladies' winners were Ver- na Smith, Clara Whitter and Heidi Krieg. Men's winners were Grace Manns. Gord Smith and James Redman. Lucky draw winners were Frank Andrews, Ilean Pugh & Earla Hill. Friday night Prince Albert's volleyball team played at S.A. Cawker, They were very close games, with S.A.Cawker pulling into the lead at the very end. Thanks to Mrs. Roth & Mrs. Lin- ton who did excellent jobs as coaches. We as parents were very proud of our boys and girls. It was great to see Mrs. Correll there to cheer on her teams. The students -& coaches appreciate her support. Sunday service was led by Rev. Bob who had as a guest speaker Willa A. Kernen a returning Mis- sionary from Korea. She worked there for over 30 years.
