A fast paced, fun play, Cheaters looks at the relationships of cheating couples, and a younger couple unsure of their future together. Their future is com- plicated further when they ask their parents for a get-together, not knowing the parents have been seeing each other's spouses. A hilarious premise, Cheaters of- fers actors and audiences a much needed laugh in the cold winter months. Required are two ladies over forty, and twa men over forty, as well as a young couple in their twenties. Cheaters will be directed by John Lukianchuk, most familiar to Borelian audiences as Jack in last season's Brighton Beach Memoirs. John is no stranger to the director's chair, most recent- ly directing The Pirates of Pen- zance in Scarborough, and a superb production of The Melville Boys at Theatre Durham. His one President of the Borelians Theatre he has a special interest in this play, and feels, "it's the perfect play for actors and the local audiences to have fun with." Auditions are Thursday in the basement of the Prince Albert Hall, at 7:30. For information call 985-0611. Soiless mix is too light to support a vigorously growing Amaryllis. Fill your pot half full of moistened tropical soil mix. Set the bulb in the centre and spread the roots out over the soil. Fill in around the bulb with more soil mix so the bulb sits with one half to one third of its depth above the soil line. Be sure the soil is tamped down firmly. Water well with a transplant fertilizer solu- tion (10-52-10). The Amaryllis roots will love it! You won't need to fertilize again until after all the blooms are finished. Now, put the pot into a warm location (not necessarily a bright light) -- the bulb will start to grow. The flower bud usually comes first, then the leaves. Once it blooms, move the Amaryllis to a cooler location if possible (at least when the soil surface appears dry. Put the Amaryllis outside from about mid June uritil the end of September, watering and fer- tilizing (20-20-20) regularly. Then into the house (the basement) with no light and no water for an eight week snooze. Bring them out, and here we go again! If you plan to give plants as Christmas gifts this year, why not start Amaryllis bulbs two or three weeks before Christmas. They will be growing and on their way to beautiful blooms by the time Christmas Day is here. Don't forget to include instructions for care both while the plant blooms and afterwards.
