Pineridge Tween action On November 17 and 18, Port Perry travelled to Stayner for their first tournament of season. Just minutes into the first period of the game, Etobicoke let Port Perry know, in no uncertain terms, they wanted to win this game. Port Perry had the same idea on their minds. Repeated at- tempts from our white and red sticks left Etobicoke's goalie undefeated. The majority of the game was played in Ports end of the ice. Amy Sinclair, Ports goalie, certainly got a good work out. The game ended in a 12-0 loss for Port Perry. Pineridge Vs. Stayner Round two took us to Wasaga Beach to play against Stayner. Just minutes into the first period of this game, Stayner managed to shoot two rings past Ports goalie; before Joan Ander- son added one to Ports scoreboard. An assist going to Melissa Pereman. Anderson, with the help of Ports defence, return- ed to Stayner's end of the ice to shoot the ring past Stayner's goalie. An assist going to Jenny Storms. The rest of the game was controlled by Stayner with the score ending 10-2 for Stayner. Pineridge Vs. Oro The ring was dropped, the whis- tle blown and the free throw from Ports defence was the begin- ning of one of the best played games the parents and fans have watched this season. Four minutes and three seconds into the first period of this game, Jenny Storms scoreboard for Port. Assists going to Sheila Ranger and Melissa Dawson. This fast paced game, accurate passing and a team effort earned Port Perry their first win of the season and a spot in the playoffs lit up the as well. The final score was 15 to 1 for Port. A fine effort was put forth by our ever bubbly goalie Amy Sinclair. Final results were: Jen- na Norton 1 assist, Melissa Dawson 1 assist, Amanda Clouthier 1 assist, Melissa Pereman 1 assist, Sheila Ranger 3 assists, Lindsay Patton 2 goals, 3 assists, Joan Anderson 5 goals, 4 assists, Julie Ball 2 goals, 5 assists, Marci Zuly 2 goals, 1 assist, Jenny Storms 4 goals, 1 assist. Pineridge Vs. Etobicoke One more time girls! Port Perry was just not meant to return home with a medal. Two minutes into the first period, put Etobicoke onto the scoreboard and they never looked back. Repeated efforts from all of Ports team members left Etobicoke's goalie with a shutout and enabled this strong ag- gressive team to advance to another game in the playoffs. I'm sure all the experience gathered by the Port Perry players will help them be a stronger team for future games. A good effort was put forth by all team members. Pineridge Vs. Woodville Woodville took control of the game early into the opening minutes of the first period. Through good clean checking and fast skating of our forwards. Port Perry put one on the scoreboard. Julie Ball scored a well earned goal. Assists went to Lindsay Pat- ton and Joan Anderson. Team work pays off. The second period of the game was definitely controlled by Woodville. Inspite of many at- tempts from both white & red sticks, Port was unable to add to the scoreboard. - Woodville managed to walk around our defense whenever "YOUR HOME GIVES YOU THE GREATEST RETURN ON INVESTMENT $2 Let your money really work for you. Final score 13-1. Pineridge Vs. Oshawa Exhibition Game 6-5, Nov. 25 Port Perry lit up the scoreboard 25 seconds into the first period. Joan Anderson scored an unassisted goal. Oshawa had somewhat the same thoughts as Port about win- ning and the score was 2-2. Joan Anderson put her aggressive skills to work and scored another goal, an assist going to Sheila Ranger. Oshawa's determination and fine passing skills tied the game 3-3. Oshawa decided to go ahead and scored a goal 16 seconds left in the first period. The second period found Port Perry very strong and willing to go the distance to win the game. Marci Zuly beat Oshawa's goalie one more time with an unassisted goal. Zuly decided it was time for Port to go home with a win. With the help of the entire team, Zuly beat Oshawa's goalie two more times, giving Port a well fought victory. An additional bonus to this game was the fine skills Amy Sinclair has developed. Amy's jol- ly attitude sure adds moral to the team soirit. Good luck to Sheila Ranger and her family as they are leaving Port Perry. We will miss you. Thank-you goes out to Mr. Ranger for all your help with the team. Pee Wee houseleague Larocque 6 - Scala 2 David Kemp scored for Laroc- ue assisted by Scott Swain and hris Needham to start off Satur- day's action in pee-wee house league. Scala came right back with Chris Vandemere from Darren Kinnunen and John McCourt. Darryl Moase got his first of three for the day from Jon Jamieson and Ryan Williams. Steve Elliot and Darryl scored again for Larocque from Jason Brain, Jason Vader and Jon Jamieson. Second period saw Scala's Kevin Hobbs fire one home assisted by Matt Mantel. The electric team saw one more from Darryl Moase unassisted and a beautiful redirection by Jon Jamieson on a hard shot by Jason Vader. Excellent goaltending was featured by Ryan Diceman of the electric men and John Babcock of Scala, who made an excellent save on a penalty shot. Floor hockey Yes, they did it again, On November 19, the intermediates tied up the game for the third week in a row. Chris Langford started off with a goal for the Herons. This was quickly answered by single goals from Wildcats, Evan Bertrand and Jason Lown. The second period Heron scorer was Chad Lance with a pair of goals. To keep the game at a "nail bitting pace" Steve Doan, Chris Murphy and Jeffrey Neal netted one each for the Wildcats. In the third period action, Brad Fraser, Clayton Brown & Matt Brown added single goals for the Herons. Kevin Pyke scored for the Wildcats. Final tally: 6-6. Super moves by Ryan Fraser of the Herons as he played between the pipes for 3 periods. Wildcats goaltending was shared by Kevin Pyke, Brennan Malcolm and Daryl Dalton. Ex- citing game guys!
