Absent from photo is coach Bill Langley. ~ Van Camp and Kelly Lee each Close matches in Mens Hockey The first game of the day in the Scugog Mens Hockey League was dominated by Nor- ton's as they had little trouble doubling up Compton 8-4. Tony Oxley led the way for the winners with a five point performance (three goals, two assists) and Dave Dickson wasn't far behind as he clicked for two goals and two helpers. Rob Kroonenburg had a goal and two assists, while Dave Milton and Brian Norton each had a singleton and one as- sist. Marv Stephenson helped set up three of the goals and Clarence Stephenson set up one. Compton was led by "Doc" Thomson with a pair of goals, Glen Hudson, one goal, one as- sist, and Todd Wilbur with a goal. Larry Page had two help- ers, with Jim Fowler and Ron Compton getting one assist each. Sportsland continued their "mini-streak" with a victory over Anderson's by a 4-3 mar- gin. It was the third win a row for the Sportsland. Mark Jobb had a goal and assist. Single markers came from Dave Harrison, Keijo Kin- nunen and Wayne Taylor. Assists in the winning cause were provided by Ed Ol- sen, Mike McQuade, Bill Owen and Rick Olaisen. For Anderson's it was Bill with a goal and assist. John De- lorme also had a marker, while Carl Durward and Larry Jack- son provided an assist each. Jand D Carpentry and Crandells hooked up in a see- saw battle that ended 6-4 in fa- vour of the carpenters. Rob Evans led the pack with two goals and two assists; Reg McIntyre, taking dead aim at the scoring title, helped the cause with two goals and one as- sist, as did Jason Warner. Dave Sandison had two helpers for the winners with Joe Curran and Larry Coutice add- ingone each. For Crandells, Henry For- derer had a goal and two as- sists, Ken Jeffery one goal and one assist, Jim Beatty and Bob Beveridge each with one mark- er. Bob Lee had two assists and Rick Campbell one. The final game of the morn- ing was a battle for first place between Fitzgeralds and Van and Truck World. There was all kinds of ex- cellent end to end hockey in this one and when the final bell sounded, Fitzgerald was on top by anarrow 3-2 margin. Al Bonner had a pair of goals, Bill Bridge a singleton, with Reg Templeman, Mark Burger and Gary Lance setting up the goals. Richie Lefort did all the damage for Van and Truck with both goals. John Robertson and Scott Davidson drew the as- sists. B/R, Swamp pull out 1-0 overtime victory Game 1 had B&R/Swamp up against a high flying Blackstock fresh off their upset win against Monsma the week before. A fast paced tight checking game ended with Keith Tremblay and his counter part Rick McLean recor- ding shutouts. In O.T. Dan McKee set up Brian Pomeroy for the only goal. Rob Mason from Bruce Woodrow opened the scoring. Bruce Woodrow from Jim Gregg and Pat Cook made it 2-0. Rob Mason unassisted to Ron Volkins from Larry Moarse rounded out the scoring for Woody's John Gerber from Jeff Hutchinson and Charlie Dennis, Ken DeJong from Mick Conlon scored for Emmerson's. The final game saw Framer's pull off a big upset, defeating Monsma 3-2. Brian Mikkelson from Tyler Renaud and Eric Kristenson, Eric Kristenson from Brian Mikkelson, Peter Kristen- son from Tyler Renaud did the damage for Framer's. Tom Hansford unassisted and Dave Dickson from Murray Down and Tom Powell replied for Monsma. The Port Perry Mer- chant Ladies continued their win- ning ways by defeating Curtis Auto Wrecker's 1-0. Scoring for Port was Carol McInnery from Janice Jackman and Sharon Robinson. The ladies are holding a New Year's Eve Dance. at the Port Perry Kinsmen Hall.
