One out of three parents say their kids are being left behind academically, forcing them into remedial classes."' Federal government figures -- in a 5 year period the number of bilingual Canadians increased by 9/10's of 1 percent. This means it will take 247 years to make Canada bil- ingual. Of those who continue in immersion in high school level, three quarters don't acquire the certificate for profi- ciency in French. Yet in some schools in Ontario if a stu- dent is caught speaking English in a immersion class they are sever- ly dealt with. There are 21 federal language police operating in Metro Toronto (one in Peterboro) enforcing French on all products -- often first on the labels. They confiscated British candies not labelled in French yet allow Dutch, German, Greek and Chinese candies without French labels. Bill 101 bars immigrants in Que. from English schools. Democracy is dead in Que. Never in the history of Canada have so many been taken in by so few. We are a nation of sheep. On- ly the brave actions of a single - native Canadian Elijah Harper saved Canada from French domination, along with New- foundlands Premier Wells. It was Secretary of State Serge Joyal in the Trudeau government who stated he and a number of people were engaged in the making of Canada into a French State.
