Novice ringette After losing our chance to par- take in a league, the Novice Ringette team was left out in the cold. While Steve Burgess, the team's coach, was trying to find exhibition games for our Girls that would be of an equal calibre for our team, two being seasoned players, and. nine new to the game, six of which are bunnies. The girls are doing a great job learning the game and developing their skills. On Saturday, December 8, we headed down to Whitby to play one of their advanced Bunny teams. Our girls started out fast and furious with a goal from Jennifer Donnelly and a hat trick from Melissa Hooker. We then retreated our seasoned players back to red stick, thus giving the other girls opportunity to develop their skills with a different stick. Playing blue stick for the first time Leanne Holt not only scored her first goal by came away with a hat trick as well. Miranda Burgess hit a nice shot into the corner to make the final score 8-2. Good hustle goes to Sarah Ver- shuuren with two great break aways, and excellent effort to Leanne Davison, keep shooting Leanne, ones sure to go in. Assists going to Alana Davis, Nicole Vir- tre, Leanne Layzell, Katherine Cooke, and Miranda Burgess. Alica Burgess doing a stand-up- job in goal, found the game of ringette quite challenging to be playing with girls at her own age and skill. With the team's new mascot, the girls developing their skills, and the great team spirit, Port Perry's future in ringette looks bright. Keep up the good effort girls, have a great Chirstmas, and we look forward to some more top notch performances in 1991. prepared for the GST. Have you? Now is the time to register.
