The question is; who would wapt to? For instance, have you caught the one about the family sitting around the table pass- ing the jar of cheese? As each one tastes it, they jump up and hop around, singing praises to this revered, orange gooey mass. Catchy lit- tle tune, | suppose, and what a family does in the privacy of their own home is no-one else's business, but what if they had company and served it? Sure, the child may be getting the daily requirement of calcium, but if he is a cheesaholic won't all that hopping do damage to his legs later on in life? | wonder as well just how the parents conduct themselves at a wine and cheese party? How about the lady who has just minutes to get her children to school because she slept in. She gets a $25.00 parking ticket in front of the bank, arrives home and locks the keys in Lazy, uncooperative winds at all altitudes brought the flight to an early end with a the car. If my day started out like that, | just know | would lock the kids in the car, stuff the pastry in the policeman's mouth, and throw my keys in the deposit slot at the bank. Then, | would cry! How about this one! Getting a cold? How lucky you would be if your boss let you go home because "it's okay, it really is quitting time," only to have a lumbering, woolly beast greet you as you enter your house. Are you sure it is cold medicine in that keg around his neck and are you certain you want to grab him to find out? It's okay, he seems friendly enough for having been outside roaming the neigh- bourhood all day. You probably don't have to feed him anything or anyone either, because he has most likely emptied every garbage can within blocks of the house. - We've all seen the one where the little boy snatches the waffle out of the toaster and holds on to it for dear life so his father, who has worked 20 hours a day to buy the waffle, can't have any. Is the waffle not hot? Logic dic- tates that a person would hop around the kitch- en table trying to hold on to it, even without a bite of cheese! Although | do find most commercials an in- sult to my intelligence, there are some that | find cute. | love the killer bunnies on the con- struction worker's underwear, but | do find it a bit strange that the lady has three men stand- ing around in her laundry room while she does their washing. Who are they, what are they do- ing and where are they going? | guess anyone who wears killer bunny shorts doesn't have to explain a thing to me. She must be one great cook! Admittedly, commercials are a fact of life and a very powerful vehicle to promote prod- ucts. They have to be, | just wrote an article about them!! Looking for a Good Read?
