So pleased that Mrs. Belle Werry is planning to return home after nearly four months in Port Perry Hospital recovering from two broken wrists and other in- juries from a fall in her home in September. Mrs. Werry at over 90 years of age is a very spunky lady and Blackstock all welcomes you home again. Bill Johnston remains a patient in Oshawa Hospital following surgery. Better health is wished for you, Bill. Cheryl Graham is off to Cuba for a vacation with some of her friends from Alberta before she returns home to Red Deer, Alber- ta following a visit with her fami- ly and friends in this area. On Christmas morning Bob and Nancy Bryans entertained Debbie and Gord Bryans, Leanna and Stevenson holds Levee Durham M.P. Ross Stevenson will hold his New Year's Levee for 1991 in Oshawa on Sunday, January 13. Residents of the Durham federal constituency are invited to meet Mr. Stevenson and his wife Elaine between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. at Parkwood Estate, 270 Simcoe Street North, Oshawa. Light refreshments will be served. Parking is available on the grounds of Parkwood, which can be entered through the main gate on Simcoe Street North. Christina, Pattie and Rick Alpe and Nathan for breakfast. Later Bob and Nancy went to Fenelon Falls to the home of Bob's niece Donna Lee and Tom Curlew, Jen- nifer and Bill for the Bryans fami- ly Christmas gathering. Janice and Les Bushfield, Trevor and Dana of London visited her parents Murray and Aileen Byers at the holiday season. On Boxing Day Nancy and Bob Bryans and family members, as they have done for over twenty- five years joined the Brown fami- ly Christmas gathering held this year at the James Fair Room at the Bowmanville Legion. About thirty members of Babe and Wilf Brown's family gathered for this Christmas celebration. On New Year's Day Harold and Eileen McLaughlin joined a fami- ly dinner at the home of Lloyd and Jean Slemon at Hayden. Bev and Shirley Black hosted a family gathering at a lodge at Halls Lake during the holiday week. Their family who visited their mom and dad for several days of the holiday week were Deb and Gord Bryans, Leanna and Christina, Terry and Robyn Black, Travis, Darren and Nicole, Brad Black, Lisa and Carl Weeden all of this area. On New Year's Day Gerald and Joyce Kelly, Elaine and Esther hosted a family dinner with the following guests Mrs. Alberta Tiers, Bobcaygeon, Mrs. Audrey Gilmour, Jim and Ella Walker, Lindsay, Ernie and Victoria Hargrave, Woodville, Peter and Elizabeth Peeters and Courtney, Omemee, Francis Peeters, Reaboro. Fifty seven members of the Ferguson-Mountjoy clan held a delightful gathering at the Recreation Centre on New Year's Day. A bountiful pot-luck dinner with much visiting, an hour of PORT PERRY WADO KAI RKRARATE skating at the arena followed by a delicious supper made for a great day. On Wednesday, January 2 the Blackstock Women's Institute held its January meeting at the Blackstock Town Hall. After a delicious lunch the meeting was opened with the Institute Ode and the Mary Stewart Collect. Guest speaker for the meeting was Regional Councillor Yvonne Christie who spoke on municipal affairs especially the garbage issue. She pointed out the com- mon sense methods of reducing the amounts of garbage which she and many others have been doing for years.
