The Port Perry Figure Skat- ing Club has kept its skaters busy competing in several re- cent competitions. This past weekend, the club sent thirteen skaters to. the Pineridge Interclub competi- tion held in Couburg. The results were as follows: Beginners Ashley Jones, fourth, Amy Davidson, sev- enth, Faith Scholfield, eighth. Artistic Program: Heidi Obstfeld, tenth, Pre- preliminary A, Kim Lacha- elle, fourth, Preliminary: Ju- ie Obstfeld, seventh, Pre Juve- nile FLT1: Amy Chapman, fourth, Pre-Juvenile FLT2:Leanne Goslin, fourth, Pre-Novice: Sarah Chapman, seventh, Intermediate Ladies Final: Angie Dowson, fourth. Three members brought home medals from the competi- tion. Pre-preliminary B, Julie Turnbull claimed the bronze, Preliminary B, Jennifer Berry claimed the bronze, and Pre- liminary A, and Tamara Em- pringham. claimed the silver medal. For finishing in the top three, these skaters earned the chance to compete for a chance at going to the Eastern Ontario Interclub Competition to be held in Belleville, March 2 and 3. To be eligible a skater must finish first. Julie placed second for a silver medal, Tamara sixth, and Jennifer eighth. The Port Perry Club also sent four skaters to the recent Oshawa Invitational. Erin Buchanan, and Julie Obstfeld competed in the Pre- liminary Ladies Division. Julie Obstfeld won the silver medal in figures. Sarah Chapman competed in the Novice Ladies divison. Amy Chapman won a silver in fig- ures, and a silver in freeskate. At the Uxbridge Invitational, the Port Perry Club brought home two gold, and a bronze. In the sion Kim Lachapelle won the 1d. Erin Buchanan and Amy hapman competed in the Pre- preliminary Ladies A division, in which Amy won the gold. In the Preliminary Ladies B, Jennifer Berry captured the bronze. Skaters from the Port Perry Figure Skating Club participated in the Pineridge Competi- tion held in Cobourg over the week-end.
