Debra Lynn McLaughlin, R.R. 1, Nestleton, received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology & Sociology from the Uni- versity of Guelph on February 6, 1981. Joe St. John, a resident of the Community Nursing Home in Port Perry celebrated his 92nd birthday on February 9. The Wallace Marlow Co. Ltd. held an official opening Satur- day for their new farm supply and garden centre store on Van- edward Drive, just south of Port Perry Ross Stevenson, a 38-year old farmer from Udora captured the Conservation nomination for the riding of York-Durham at a meeting held last Wednesday. An apartment and store in the plaza on Highway 7A in Port Perry sustained damage during last week's ice and rain storm when considerable amounts of water came through the roof. ROUNDS WALTZES Late Valentine for Davis family On Sunday, Greenbank Church held the Seagrave-Greenbank Baden-Powell "Thinking Day" Service. The Brownies, Cubs, Scouts, Guides and Pathfinders from both communities filled our church to remember Lord and Lady Baden-Powell on their bir- thday and to salute them with a full colour parade. The flags were lovely! There were many beautiful ministries in music. Bernice Beacock sang 'From a Distance."" The choir's anthem was "As We Come Together." The Brownies, Guides and Pathfinders sang "On My Honor." We also enjoyed a Candle Lighting ceremony for Peace and Unity around the world and sang many of our favourite songs - "Its A Small World," "Kum Ba Yah," and '""'Amazing Grace." Congratulations to the Cubs and Scouts who worked many hours to receive their "Religion In Life Awards." The "Loaves For Organ Fund" is now successful. 19 loaves were sold on the first Sunday and 28 on the second Sunday. Our thanks to the "Chicken Coop" for this fine donation. Keep up the good work. The more you eat - the more the Organ fund grows. Mrs. Margaret Couperthwaite visited with Wardell and Gladys White in Uxbridge recently. Friday March 1, 2 p.m. is "The World Day of Prayer." This is celebrated around the world. Greenbank Church joins this wor- ship service in Seagrave United Church. The theme 'On The Journey Together" was written by the women of Kenya. Come and join us at this special day. A late Valentine was delivered in Greenbank to Mr. and Mrs. Ron Davis and daughters Aman- da and Samantha! It was a beautiful baby boy named Michael Ronald, born on Friday the 15th.
