She was my best friend and someone | could count on for anything. Over the years we shared so much. ~ | met her when | first moved to Port Petty. | was eight years old. We did everything together - skating on the lake. taking breaks and diinking hot chocolate. We both got roller skates for Christmas one year and when spring and summer came along. we would roller skate to Epsom to see some guys we used to like. and, then roller skate back home. | was always at her house or she was at mine. We would make up dance routines or she would help me with my gymnastics. We couldn't be separated. One summer Karen and her parents took me to P.E.I. with them. The truth is we got along only half the time. | think it was because we were so much alike and bull-headed. we would fight. We fought over who was cheating when we played cards. We drove her parents crazy. It was a long drive and we went for two weeks. I'm so glad | did go because Karen and I got closer - we were like sisters. Karen was my ultimate best friend and always will be. | loved her so much. Even after we grew up and started going our own ways. we still kept in touch. Maybe a phone call here and there, but it showed our friendship was still strong. and we still cared. There's so much | could say about Karen and what we shared together. but most important she had really bad asthma. always in and out of the hospital - always breathing through a mask or spray. | always thought it was getting better because when she was small she was really bad. always having attacks - scaring everyone. I'm also glad she was still here to share one of my happiest days with me. She was my bridesmaid in my wedding. She helped me get prepared for it and | can't remember when | had so much fun - because she made it fun. Never boring - that's for' sure. We got close all over again. Two months later. on March 1st. 1990. she passed away. She had a really bad asthma attack. She was only 22 years old. | will never forget her. or the things we did that | cant mention. | will miss her always. God's looking over her now. She's in peace and | think, in some way. she's looking over us now. God bless you. Karen ........ Love.
