18 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, March 12, 1991 MEET YOUR MERCHANTS Spring is just around the corner, and what better time to brighten your home with re-decorating. Whether it's just a room or the entire house, Cheryl Haines and Corinne: Rob- ertson have the decorating experience and expertise to help you achieve that special look that will make you proud. They operate "The Decorated Room," an in-home decorating service. The business was formed in 1987 by Cheryl, and Corinne recently became a partner. The ladies have been friends for many years. And they make a great working busi- ness team as both have spent many years decorating their own homes, and those of family and friends. Cheryl has taken decorating courses in design and colour, textiles, lighting, his- tory of furniture and marketing at Seneca College in Toronto. Both partners are experienced sew- ers who enjoy working with draperies and accessories. And to handle excess orders, they employ a professional seamstress. Cheryl and Corinne are actively in the work right from the initial consultation through to actually hanging wallpaper and doing the painting themselves. The services offered by "The Deco- rated Room" includes co-ordinating, se- lection and sale of furniture, blinds and drapes, custom window treatments and all the accessories that create that special look. And they provide experienced, quali- ~ ty workmanship in papering, painting, re- finishing woodwork, and the stencilling of walls and curtains. Customer satisfaction is their first pri- ority. "Our clients' tastes and personality, not ours, has to be reflected in their deco- rating scheme," explains Cheryl. "We work with our clients to achieve the look they want." From the outset, it was not necessary for "The Decorated Room" to do too much active promotion as word of mouth from satisified clients provided much of the work and the well deserved business rep- utation. Projects, though mostly in residenc- es, have also included commercial set- tings in officés and restaurants. Re-decorating makes good sense for several reasons: people are busy working and don't have time to do this themselves; they are taking pride in their homes, and it enhances the value of theirhomes. For any and all decorating needs, you can reach Cheryl and Corinne at (416) 986-5607 in Caesarea. If they are out working, please leave your message on their friendly answering machine.
