CAMP Pink lace, strands of pearls and Boston ferns filled Blackstock United Church on September 8, 1990 when Debra Lynn Van Camp became the bride of William Dudley Shower. Debbie is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Van Camp, Blackstock. Bill is the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Dudley Showler, Gananoque. The bride, given in marriage by her father, looked stunning in her gown of white satin with the bodice and full sleeves encrusted in sequins and seed pearls. The niece of the bride, Ashley O'Donnell, was a beautiful flower girl, also in her gown of white satin. The maid of honour was Anne Marie Hoogeveen, friend of the bride. The bridesmaids were Karen Phillips, sister of the groom, and Lynn McLaughlin, friend of the bride. All the bride's attendants looked striking in their floor length gowns of lipstick ; tr satin with matching rhinestone jewellery. The groom and his attendants were formally attired in co-ordinated black tuxedos. Stewart Smally, friend of the groom acted as best man. The quests were ushered by Paul Kozak, friend of the groom, and Jay Van Carp, brother of the bride. The ring bearer Robert Werry and reader John Woerry, nephews of the bride, both performed their duties very professionally. Following the photographs at the bride's parent's home, everyone enjoyed a fun-filled reception at the Blackstock Recreation Centre. The happy bride and groom departed for a relaxing honeymoon in hot and sunny Jamaica. The floral displays, decorations and professional consultations were provided by Ashley Anne Designs. Thanks so much for a beautiful day. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Showler are now residing in their home located in Bowmanville, Ontario. Spring has arrived at Brock's.
