Blackstock Lions played a good game against this undefeated senior team. Peter Bostelman had a triple and Andy Avis homered. Good catches were made by Eric Vetter, Andy Avis, Dave Walker and Josh Wilson to stop Maltheb Farms from scoring any more runs. For Maltheb Farms Danny Flynn and Carl Davis had two singles each, while Johnathan McCourt, Brent Donnelly, Lloyd, Shaddock, Kevin Gilbank and Scott Goble had doubles. Scott Nesbitt had two singles and a dou- ble while Jamie Lowe had a single and two doubles. Johnathan McCourt made a nice play at se- cond and Danny Flynn made a good stop on a bad hop to prevent an extra base hit. Cummings Backhoe 14 Blackstock Country Hardware 10. Cummings Backhoe doubles by Jamie Boccaccio, Mike Wright, Todd Moore, Derrick Malcolm, Chris Parson and Jeff Balser. Kirk Swain homered. Good plays by Scott Page on a throw out at first. Todd Moore caught a line drive and a wild throw to first. Excellent pitching by Kirk Swain with nine strike outs. A good ef- fort by Ben Humphrey pitching two innings. Asselstine's doubles by Jesse Gould (3), Colleen Arbuckle, Trevor Marnoch, Lisa Nesbitt and John Chrapek. Deryk Campbell had a triple while Trevor Mar- noch and Ronald Kelly homered. A great effort was made by Ronald Kelly in the pitching department striking out six of 10 batters. Bandits sored by Hanks Pastries) were Rich Szemit (2), Ken Langille, Darren Desautels, and Bruce Roulston (2). Assisting were Peter Szemit (2), Darren Desautels (2), Steve Langille, Hank Gregory, Gary Roulston, Dave Lawrence and Ken Langille. June 25 Squirt soccer action Another exciting evening of squirt soccer took place on June 25. There was lots of action in the game between Team E and the Rotary Club. Team E came up with the win by a score of 5-2. Spencer Churchill and David Halward each scored two goals and Matthew Smart scored one. Chris Wood also played outstan- ding defense for Team E. Wes Langmaid scored both of the Rotary Club's goals. Evan Powell assisted on one and Ashley Wray assisted on the second. Leigh Palermo played well defen- sively for the Rotary Club. Team H had a very productive outing against Raglan Welding, and took that game 8-1. Tony Boosma had a hat-trick, but his performance was topped by Jeff Crosier, who scored 4 goals. Nicholas Byers also scored again for Team H. Stacey Cunningham is having a very good season with Raglan Welding, and she scored again as well. City Capital just edged out Manvers Team T 4-3. Trevor Lance had 3 goals, and Trevor Lewis scored as well for City Capital. Timothy Motozas and Colleen Barfoot both played ex- cellent defense. Nicholas Spence has shown a lot of improvement and had a good outing as goaltender. For Manvers Team J Colin Davis scored 2 goals and Patti Thomas added 1. Kyle Parent narrowly missed tying the game with a dazzling scoring chance. Brian Kruk illustrated good ball control throughout. Manvers Team I fared better against Team G, winning the game 8-0. Despite the loss, Joshua Moore played very well for Team G, and Jonathan Dufoe showed proficiency in carrying the ball. Team F won a narrow victory over Scugog Lumber 3-2. Michael Sytsma played a strong offensive game and came up with 2 goals for Team F. Wolfgang Palleske also played well and scored a goal. Chloe Desmarais was also excellent on defense. Technique Drywall Tigers 13 - Blackstock Lioness 12. Technique Drywall home run by Justin while Shelly doubled. Darryl McClurg and Karen Swain both made great catches. David Gainey and Karen Swain made a double play. A good game by all. Blackstock Lioness doubles by Melissa Renes, Bill Parr, Natashia Burgess, Philip Notten- boom, Shauna Hassell, Scott Malcolm and Ryan Prescott. Triples by Bill Parr, Philip Not- tenboom and Ryan Peters. Jamie Budge and Ryan Peters homered. Good plays by Ryan Prescott at first, Angela Drew, Philip Notten- boom double play, and Ryan Peters. A great effort was made by Scott Malcolm in left field, Chris Bronson, Scott Malcolm pit- ching and Amanda Bradburn. Ryan Peters great catching. A good game by all players. Don Frew and Sons 16 - J.C. In- stallations 11. Don Frew and Sons got a well deserved first win of the season. Home runs by Allan Richmond (2) and J.J. Brunner. Triples by Glen Williams and Jim Chapman. Doubles by Jim Chapman and Glen Williams. Richard Frew, Jeff Bonsma, Brad Martin, Man- di Richmond, Julie Williams and Amanda Locke all had singles. Daring double plays by Jim Chap- man at second. Junior Division June 26 Swain Seed Sluggers 14 - Mike Baker Automotive 13. Swain Seed Sluggers singles and doubles by Cameron Vernest, Luc Wilson, Ryan Kindre, Aman- da Drew scored winning run on a hit by David Carnagon. Rob Wolters homered. Good plays by Rob Wolters, Amanda Drew, Cameron Vernest and Tim Borody. A great effort was made by Chris Goble, Stephanie Sutcliffe, Brad Sutcliffe, Joey Lane, Christa Lane and Randy Nicholos. What a come back vic- tory - super game by all players. Mike Baker Automotive played an exciting game of baseball against Swain Seed Sluggers on- ly to come out losing at the end by one run. This was an enjoyable game to watch. Leading the way for Mike Baker Automotive was Michael Thompson with two home runs, Derek Roberts with three hits including a homer, Alicia Burgess, Travis Black, and William Hineman all with two hits. Good base running by Brent McGregor, Miranda Burgess, Jacklyn Pottery, Mathew Welts, Crystal Garrison and Jessica Boc- cachio as they all scored runs for the team. Jason McGregor also played a great game fielding the ball preventing the Sluggers from scoring more runs. Lishmans 24 - London Life Lazers 5. Lishmans had another great game with steady work from cat- chers Danny Deeth and Joey Schrembri. Ryan Woods made a good pop fly catch as well as a double. Joey Derynck hit a home run, Brian Wonnacott hit two home runs, with singles coming from Adam Harkness and Aman- da Hutton. The Lazers tried their Yest with great efforts from Julia Martyn, Allison Kadowaki and James McGee. Joe Knighton swatted a pair of homers for the Lazers. Despite dropping five of their first six games, and media pressure, sponsor Brian Sonne said in an in- terview after the game that Manager Brian Sonne's position is not in jeopardy. Local racers compete As always, the action was fast and furious, the crowd excited and the racing superb as the regular Saturday Night stock car action at Mosport International Speedway got under way for another week of intense competition. In the Street Stock class, Andy Warbutton of Oshawa, Ontario, blasted around the track and cap- tured the feature race and two of the heats as well. In second place in the feature Street Stock race was Rod Marshall of Cavan, and in third place was Fred Shepstone of Port Perry. In the late Model Sportsmen class, Stuart Robinson Jr. of Holland Landing, captured the checkered flag and took home the victory in the feature race follow- ed by Jr. Regan of Barrie, and Randy Slack of York. In the Late Model class, due to inclement weather, the feature at Mosport Speedway 'race was unable to run, however, the first two heats did and i in the first heat Wayne Williams of Unionville, Ontario, grabbed the win, followed by Tom Milligan of - Newmarket and Dave Taylor of Caesarea. The second heat in this class was won by Al Thomsan of Uxbridge. In second place was Tom Milligan and in third was Joe Dilecoe of Richmond Hill. The night sky was all lit up as a spectacular fireworks display 'helped celebrate Canada Day as the evening's racing came to a close for another week. Mosport International Speed- way's next special event comes on the weekend of July 13-14 as the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) headlines the regular Saturday night racing. Along with the ACT show will be the Supermodifieds and a CASCAR race. It's the Bud 250 Weekend and it shouldn't be missed.
