Crime Stoppers seek ' hit and run information Durham Regional Police and Crime Stoppers are looking for the public's help in solving a hit and run which occurred in Oshawa on April 8. At approximately 11 p.m. the victim was driving east on King Street East, west of Ritson Road in the second lane from the north curb when a vehicle travelling in the same direction struck the rear of the Chevette. The victim was taken to hos- pital where she received treat- ment for back and neck inju- ries. The car sustained damages of approximately $5,000. The driver of the vehicle re- sponsible started to stop but then left the scene without ex- changing information or offer- ing assistance to the injured victim. The driver of the vehicle is described as a white male. The vehicle was a black or dark col- ored "A" body Chevrolet or Pon- tiac, similar or the same as a Pontiac 6000. The suspect vehi- cle sustained front end to left frontend damage. If anyone has information leading to the identity of the ve- hicle and the driver that fled, Crime Stoppers would like you to call them. The number is 436-TIPS (436-8477). There have been 350 visitors to the centre since the May 24 weekend, says travel counsel- lor Jeff Brown, but the centre wasn't open full-time until June 28. The cleaning program will be performed during the month of July, 1991. The contractor will notify consumers before starting operations in each section of watermain and again when work on that section is finished. There may have to be brief water shutdowns in some areas, in which case, consumers will be similarly notified. The work will be carried out expeditiously, with the least possible inconvenience to consumers. Consumers in an area being cleaned are cautioned not to draw water, for any purpose .
