No. 11 Uxbridge), gathered for a potluck lunch and an afternoon of happy reminiscing at the Udora Community Centre. The hall was decorated with red, white and blue streamers and table centres, and red and blue headtable place cards. Mr. Delbert Catherwood, a former student, was Master of Ceremonies for a short program. Mrs. Dulcie Colby, with Karen Hamilton at the piano, led in the opening National Anthem "O Canada!" and a sing-song. Greetings from the Durham Board of Education were brought by local representative Mr. Wayne Wilson. Mrs. Susan Para, local township councillor, extended greetings from Township Council. Corsages, designed by Donna Barkey, were presented to former teachers Mrs. Katherine Crosier, Mrs. Della Moore, Mrs. Margaret Symes and Mrs. Myrna Sharrard by former students Della Moore, June Hill, Donna Grainger and Elisabeth Ellis. Presentations of brass book marks were made by Thelma Murphy to the oldest teacher, Mrs. Crosier; the teacher longest at the school, Mrs. Moore; the oldest student, Mr. Howard Gourlie Sr. ; the student from far- thest away, Mr. Howard Gourlie Jr. from Nipawin, Saskatchewan. Eleven students who had at- tended the old school were at the Uxbridge | reunion: - Irene (Locke) Arm- strong, Delbert Catherwood, Eldred Catherwood, May (Fielder) Forsythe, Howard Gourlie Sr., Verna (Bell) Jones, Wm. Locke, Della (Johnson) Moore, Ernest Simpson, Theda (Hopkins) Slack and Beatrice (Locke) Wallace. In front of the Decade Display panels of pictures, clippings and stories of the school from 1898 to 1969 when it closed, was a great meeting place.
