The report is being prepared by Interim Waste Authority Ltd., a company recently formed by the provincial gov- ernment to search, select and establish long-term landfill sites within the Greater Metro- politan Area. IWA will search for one site in Peel, one in York, and one in Durham. The process for select- ing the sites will follow the principles of the Environmen- tal Assessment Act. According to Erv McIntyre, general manager at IWA, The Assessment Design Docu- ments, expected to be released August 8, will outline the pro- posed site search process, site selection criteria, issues being considered, and the program for publicinvolvement.
